Canada Denies Entrance to Israeli Informer

According to a report in Canada's National Post newspaper yesterday, the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Board has decided to reject the immigration request of a man from southern Lebanon due to his past role as a spy for Israel.

The man, who allegedly spied on the Hizbullah terrorist organization from 1998 to 1999, sought asylum in Canada after Israeli forces withdrew from southern Lebanon and he was fingered as a Mossad informant by a former superior, putting his life in jeopardy. However, the Canadian IRB decided to deny the unidentified petitioner refugee status on the grounds that he had committed "crimes against peace", "war crimes" or "crimes against humanity".According to the IRB decision, "there were serious reasons for considering that the claimant had been an accomplice, because of his personal and conscious participation in crimes against humanity committed by Israel and the SLA."

According to the decision, the Lebanese man gave Israeli intelligence agents the names of 40 Hizbullah members, informed them of locations used by Hizbullah members, the cars they used and the print shops that produced their materials. The IRB said that captured Hizbullah terrorists would have been mistreated as a result. The National Post's Stewart Bell noted, "Under Canadian law, Hezbollah is considered a terrorist organization because of its involvement in car bombings, hijackings and kidnappings. Despite that, Canadian officials condemned the man, identified only as Mr. X, for his work against the group."

The case had been brought against Sharon last year by 23 survivors of the massacre in which 800 people were killed by a Lebanese Christian militia allied to Israel.

The survivors alleged that Sharon, who was defence minister at the time, was responsible for the massacre in the refugee camps near Beirut.
Sharon had faced an investigation and a possible arrest warrant and trial if the appeals court decision had gone against him.

He still faces the possibility of an appeal by the plaintiffs. Both sides had said they would appeal if the ruling went against them.
Mohalhel Fakih, a journalist in Beirut told CNN, he had spoken to one of the plaintiffs attending the ruling in Belgium.

"She was devastated," Sakih added.
The plaintiff deemed the ruling unfair and intended to pursue a prosecution, Sakih said.
Daniel Shek of the Israeli foreign affairs department welcomed the decision.

He was quoted by The Associated Press outside the courtroom: "A trial that began with more politics than law happily ends with more law than politics.

"We from the beginning trusted the Belgian courts, and I am happy that we were not disappointed."

The decision on whether the Belgian court has jurisdiction had been thrown in doubt after a ruling by the International Court of Justice, known as the World Court, in The Hague, the Netherlands, in February.

Sharon's lawyers had argued the case should be thrown out following that ruling, which came in a separate case involving a former Congolese foreign minister.
The World Court ruled that Belgium could not try Abdoulaye Yerodia Ndombasi for allegedly killing hundreds of minority Tutsis in 1998 because of his diplomatic immunity.

An Israeli inquiry at the time of the Palestinian killings found Sharon indirectly responsible , prompting his resignation.

Other world leaders face prosecution, including Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat.

I am so glad that you are not anti-semitic, bobfrgsn. I am so relieved that you would not wish Israel to return to the horrific vulnerability of the pre-1967 borders. I am so relieved that you would not support the positions of those whose goal is the total anniliation of Israel. I am so relieved that you would not wish to leave Israel defenseless in the face of her enemies.

The anti-Jewish attitude today is so reflective of pre-1939 Europe. The SS St. Louis is such an example of a world turning its back on the Jews and forcing them vulnerably into the hands of their enemies:

Each of the SS St. Louis passengers carried a visa to Cuba, yet they were nevertheless denied entry there. The United States and Canada also turned away the human cargo, which included families with small children. The ship sailed the seas for three weeks, desperately seeking a country that would give them asylum. For five days, the SS St. Louis sailed along the sea shore of Florida. Yet, nobody wanted the Jews. Instead, the ship turned around and headed back towards Europe where they were granted temporary entrance into Belgium. Nearly half of the passengers of the St. Louis perished in the Holocaust.

Trans-Jordan was created specificly for the Palestinian Arabs, and yet the enemies of Israel have falsely manufactured the Palestinian refugee
"crises" as a method of attacking Israel.

The anti-semitism of much of the western world enabled the ovens to fire, and 6-million to be murdered. Anti-semitism sides with the Palestinians, and enables Arafat to retain power, allows Israel to continue to be bombarded with bombs, and seeks to render her even more vulnerable with land for "peace".
