Canadian Govt. Now Selling Pot

Very interesting.

Does marijuana have medicinal benefit? I have no idea. But I do know that many other substances which are illegal (and dangerous) to buy/sell on the street are perfectly legal and beneficial under a doctor's supervision, such as steroids. It's not like the Canadian govt is setting up a ganga farm, just as it is not getting into pro bodybuilding.

Yes.
However all it's medical uses can easily be accomplished by other means. Some are allergic to those other medications and for those cannabis based products are nice. As far as I know, if you take enough to get stoned, you have taken much more than is needed for medicinal purposes.

On a personal note. Marihuana is not particularly healthy to use, but declaring it illegal was one of the more stupid ideas of the american legislature.

 

Send the marines! (TIC) Regime change in Ottawa!! Bet they've got weapons of mass destruction, too!

Just legalize it and let the government collect taxes on it just like it does other products. This would end the governmental hypocrisy...at least in this one area.

 

Of course, pot itself counts as a biological warfare agent, doesn't it? I mean, everybody knows that when our government says the Canadians have biological warfare agents we mean they've got weed. Right?

We have had a few threads recently on this topic, I think that we will see more and more countries offering it as pain relief to people who have little alternative. I can see a case for it for those who are in genuine pain.
