What do you all know about the Canon of Scripture, apparently the Ethiopians and maybe others have a different canon than us? My cousin mentioned that to me. I thought only the Roman Catholics had a different canon.

What other types of Christianity are there that would be considered to follow the Bible? I don't know what all parts of the world have their own type?

What books do Messianic Jews count as Scripture?

    That type of stuff?

    Thank you for any help.

Catholics of course include the Apocrypha. We accept the Canon because in or around the 3rd century the Orthodox church (that eventually got perverted into the Roman Catholic church), recognized the 66 books we have in our modern Protestant Bibles. The Eastern Orthodox (Russia, etc) have the same Canon. If there are sects that have a different Canon, I am ignorant of them. Cults always have their own, like JW's and Mormons and Muslims.

My cousin has some print out that shows like 7 different canons, like ethiopia's is differnet, not sure what all it has, and didn't hear back from him about where he got that from. He is more into looking into gnostic gospels and apocrypha and I am more into staying safe in the canon, but it has brought up questions about it.

Ethiopia probably does have a different one. But it is a little tiny sect of Christianity. The majority of central Protestants hold to 66 books. Catholics add Apocrypha.
