I am not debating. The first ones to get the vaccine will be the guinea pigs. The vaccine has been fast tracked. Though all protocols were followed, there is no substitute for time and numbers. Nothing political about that. Democrats and Republicans are equally split on their opinions of vaccine safety. snip In a year, I may change my mind. Who "fellowships" about a vaccine?
If safety was not in question, It would go to the elderly and high risk without discussion. I hope it's safe. You don't know it is and I don't know it is. Who is going to be the guinea pig? I watched a vaccine researcher who said he won't take it. He has researched Coronavirus vaccines for years. He said they have all worked excellent on animal tests. The problem arises at third to fourth virus mutation. The vaccine makes the third to fourth mutation of the virus almost 100% fatal to the vaccinated animals.

I have some chronic medical conditions that I was unable to access standard treatment for. The people that did get the standard treatment are suffering crippling side effects and even death. Neglect and marginalization saved me.

I guess one benefit to wealthier people having earlier access to new medicine is that they can access further care to deal with the side effects and hire lawyers if their religion allows them to sue.

I have learned to have less fear about my lack of access to medicine. Sometimes God is protecting me.

We have to follow the path we each think best in our circumstances. For me, it is to take the vaccine as soon as I can. Since I just turned 65 years of age, I hope that I will be somewhere in the upper half of those to get it after medical personnel, first responders, teachers, and other essential workers, and those with health issues such as the elderly.

I pray that God will make sure that you are protected no matter what happens. That he will open or close doors as needed to keep you safe, and grant a miracle that makes the presence or non-presence of the vaccine in your body irrelevant if necessary.

I have an arm itching to get jabbed by a needle a couple of times. I thank God for this great progress and for the years of previous research on coronoviruses that laid the groundwork for this rapid development.

The VA sent me an email today offering me the privilege to participate in their trial program requiring 8 trips.

When I experienced a bizarre virus type of illness last year, that hospitalized me. I fully trusted that the Lord was in complete control, and He was.

My condition degraded rapidly, so much so, that my wife called in my brothers and nephew. My nephew, strong in the faith, came up with his father, intent on laying on hands and praying over me. During their visit, and even before my nephew laid on hands and prayed at the end of the visit, my condition started rapidly improving. The Lord knows the thoughts and intents of the heart.

When they arrived I was incoherent and burning up with fever. By the time they left, I was coherent and the fever was gone, not to return. I had continual fever for 10 consecutive days before they arrived and the previous night had been covered with ice rags when my fever spiked again due to the doctor's fear of giving me any more tylenol. Most of my body was covered in a red welted discoloration that mysteriously neither burned nor itched. When I left the hospital 2 days later it was all gone.

To this day, after a multitude of testing while in the hospital, and many follow-ups visits, the VA still has no clue what my illness was. Neither would they give the glory to God when I told them that the Lord healed me. In her vanity, the one doctor wanted to exclusively credit the steroids for my rapid improvement and deny God's intervention in an illness that she couldn't even identify.

I know how far this nation, including our military leadership, has moved from acknowledging God and His Christ. Humanistic Vanity is where we are today. Unwilling to humble ourselves, repent, and appeal for God's intervention in the troubles of today including Covid-19.

I will pass on the VA's offer. For at best, I know they would not glorify God if it does well, and at worst they would not blame our sin if it does poorly.

@xlsdraw Glad you were healed from your illness. I pray for God to remove this scourge of COVID-19 every day. I will take the vaccine. I am reminded of the old story about the man stranded on his rooftop in a flood and needing to be rescued.

It's my understanding that this new virus vaccine technology is perhaps a bit more altering to the Lord's natural design of the human body than has been done before. At best it may preserve the human experience in the flesh a bit longer. At worst it may end a person's human experience in the flesh prematurely.

I'm not convinced that the Lord is ok with man's pushing the envelope with things like this and stem cell experimentation. Particularly with the perpetual praise of Science that we see these days.

Florida just announced tonight that the nursing home patients will be at the front of the line here. At least the vaccine is not being mandated.

This is what I have heard, too. And that it might need to be administered every 3 months.

They use really large needles and if you give platelets, you can get "jabbed" every other week (26 times per year maximum).

Yes, I have given blood, including platelets. When I worked my employer periodically held blood drives in the dining room.

I agree.
But if left up to my own choice, I will opt out of the vaccine as I have always done with other ones that I was left with the choice to get...
and trust the Lord until such time as He shows me that medical treatment for an illness is His will.

I have not shunned medical treatment in the past ( especially certain reparative surgeries ), but I much prefer to let my body fight off illness, if possible.
As I get older ( I'm going on 55 ), that may change.

At any rate and in the long run, I'd much rather be at home with the Lord;
Covid-19 doesn't scare me, but I do feel a lot of compassion for those who have gotten very sick or even died from it.

I expect many, many employers to do so.

I expect a great many lawsuits, if vaccine mandating begins....
But none of them will come from me.

I was 10 years U.S. Navy, so I know the drill.
We got shots when we were told to, so everybody stayed reasonably healthy.
I'm also a Christian, so I know where I stand with this world.
I'll do the best that I can to obey those in authority, until such time as those authorities command me to disobey the Lord.

As it stands, my employer is a defense contractor... so the company I work for is pretty much deemed "essential".
Right now their legal department is looking into the ramifications of requiring us to be vaccinated, whereas in years past that was left up to us.
My union local is also involved and looking out for its members as much as possible ( not that I depend on them, but sometimes it's good to know that one can "appeal to Caesar" if one wants to ).

Regardless...
If it comes down to it and they mandate it, then I will of course do it;
But that doesn't mean I have to like it...

It only means that I have to comply with it if I want to keep my job;
A job that the Lord graciously gave to me and that pays quite well for what I do.

Arkansas, where I live, is an "at will" employment situation. So if an employer in Arkansas mandates the vaccine, then any employee that refuses to comply is at the mercy of his employer.
