shodan, am I supposed to disagree with Spurgeon? Until Augustine there is no argument for Christians to participate in warfare. We know that Roman soldiers were coming to faith, yet still remaining soldiers. We don't see Jesus rebuking the Centurion for being in the Roman army. We also don't see early Christians fighting to start a Kingdom on earth.
I don't have any problem with Spurgeon's comments or with Christians who promote pacifism.
