Yes this is a rant that a elder of a former SBC I used to attend believes, and has made public on social networking sites. He seems to be very much against Charles and the sad news is that he is not interested in facts. The other day ago he sent me a message on FB saying that First Baptist of Atlanta does not do much open air preaching Way of the Master style and that Charles Stanley does not preach on sin. I then replied and said that I know of people whom are associated with John MacArthur whom do not agree with the Way of the Master and do not open air. I never got a reply… But he later said that Stanley is off in his eschatology. I then replied and said that RC Sproul is even more off as he is a preterist, but regardless I respect RC, but agree to disagree with him on this one.
I have attempted to reason with this man, offered to send him podcasts of sermons where Stanley does preach on sin, but he has gone silent everytime, until he thinks of a new rant to fire out about Stanley. This tells me he has an agenda and is not interested in facts, just ways to bash Dr. Stanley. I do not agree with everything Stanley says, but we must be biblical and critique him with the Bible, and not with our emotions.
