This from a post from someone FB timeline.

"Where is the church?"

I have asked that question in frustration. It gets asked about every evil in every age.

Here is the answer....

Right where the true church has always been. Sharing the gospel. Teaching truth. Functioning Biblically.

The presence of sin in a society is no more the church's fault than the presence of sin in a newborn baby is the church's fault.

Why?

Because lost sinners will always act like lost sinners. And Biblical local churches will always combat lies with truth. And lost sinners care no more for truth than criminals care for law.

The gospel presupposes that sinners are depraved. What do you think sin will look like in a lost culture? Peaches and cream? Sugar and spice and everything nice?

We can end abortion tomorrow at noon and at 12:00:01 someone will run over someone with a truck in the name of their god or for the color of their skin. And someone will say, "Where's the church?"

Right where she has always been. Preaching the gospel. Teaching truth. Functioning Biblically.

Short of mass regeneration you can expect more of the same until Christ returns.

Blame the church and you find out how low your view of human depravity really is.

I will state that many christians have gotten very frustrated and upset with the events of recent days but most christians do very little to spread the gospel or to speak out against false teachings and teachers.

I'm not seeing a connection. Are you saying if more Christians would witness they wouldn't be frustrated by rioting and murder? Or are you saying if more Christians would witness they wouldn't ask, "where is the church?"

Most Christians have their priorities wrong. Witnessing to the lost is far more important of a priority, and saving souls from Hell. Sure we should be outraged by rioting and murder, but how else do you expect a depraved society to act?

My example is Jesus. What did He ever do to try to change society? His whole ministry was about changing hearts. Paul focussed on changing society (persecuting Christians) before his Damascus Road experience. After that, he also put his entire focus on sharing the gospel.
