Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain apparently committed suicide yesterday in France.

It is a sad thing. Celebrities seem to have the world but often it comes with soul emptiness.

He could have done much in continuing to live and use all his money in worthwhile endeavors to help people, instead of doing what he did. Now he has a bigger problem in explaining to Almighty God why he so callously threw away the life he was given.

I echo what Reformed said about soul emptiness. For over two years I myself went through a like turmoil as Mr. Bourdain, but God was my steadfast companion and I persevered day by day and emerged a stronger person. Today my continued daily prayer life keeps me on a level plane in coping with everything that happens to me in this world.

May God have mercy on Mr. Bourdains soul.

Suicide is the most selfish thing you could do when you leave young children to grapple with it. He left an 11 yo daughter. Kate Spade, whose daughter is 13, even had the audacity to tell her daughter to ‘ask Daddy’. Yeah, let’s cast aspersions on the remaining parent on the way out of her parental responsibilities. Children usually blame themselves because they can’t understand why they were left.
