I ordered a couple dozen tracts from Chick Publications. I've been dropping them places, like phone booths, on gas pumps--people can read them if they choose and who knows, someone may get saved.

I'm a shy person so I use my "paper missionaries" and my Web site.

    Hey, those things work!

A friend of mine read "This Was Your Life" that was left in a public reatroom, and accepted Christ. He is now an associate pastor.

You never know who will pick up a tract that you plant. And Chick tracts are in comic-book form, so they are especially attractive.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

There are several good tracts put out by Chick Publications. I don't like all of them, but "This Was Your Life" is a good one. I keep a few hundred of those in English, several of the same title in Spanish as well.

I personally pick and choose from Chick Publications. I don't like all of them, but "This Was Your Life," "Creator or Liar," and "One Way" are very good tracts.

Ever read the one "Somebody Loves Me?" (I think that's the title.) I cry EVERY time I read that!

Among my favorites are "Are Roman Catholics Christians?", "Who Murdered Clarice?", "Sin City," and "Doom Town."

I also ordered the Alberto comics. I used to be such a fangirl, having all these DC comics...now I read Chick comics!

I also have an Austrian friend who was a Catholic and is now a Wiccan. I'm going to order some relevant tracts in German and send them to her. I care about her and I don't want to see her in that mess.

i love chick tracts, besides leaving them in places for people to find, i ordered the sampler pack and the comic books just for family reading. everyone except little ari (2 yrs old) has read them all!

many of the ray comfort tracts are good too, imo.

Well the sources you provide appear to be Catholic or promote ecumenism. I'm considering the source there. I know without a doubt that Jack Chick and Dr. Rivera were telling the truth.

That's like asking NOW to promote a pro-life book.

Alexandra, just do a little research before you jump on a Chick bandwagon. The man is not honest.

It is quite easy to do. Google is a good place to start.

You will also easily find that Chick's tracts also contain a large number of errors.

So just because some schlub who threw together a web site says Chick's not honest, I should just jump on *their* bandwagon?

Anyway, I did my research on it a long time ago and I can say with confidence that Chick is not dishonest.

    C-Stone isn't Catholic.

Actually, C-Stone isn't just "some schlub who threw together a web site".

They're a nationally recognized, award winning magazine, who's expose of the Mike Warnke scandal made every news organization in the country sit up and take notice.

What kind of research did you do?

And what do you base this on?

Why Christians continue to support this brown shirted thug, I have no idea.

In the immortal words of the Storyteller, Tom T. Hall, "God bless little children while they're still too young to hate".

Mike McK: I said either Catholic OR ecumenical.

Ecumenism is bad. Promise Keepers are bad. Billy Graham Crusades are bad.

    Nevertheless, it is Cornerstone Magazine.

Yeah, I hate it when someone preaches the Gospel and all those people respond to it.

What kind of research did you do?

And what do you base this on?

I'm sorry you feel that way.

When someone says that a respected magazine is "some schlub on the internet", I don't think it's unreasonable to point out that this is a real, reputable magazine.

When someone says that they have "researched" something and come to a conclusion that doesn't jibe with common belief, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask what research they did and how they came to their conclusion.

When someone says that a ministry with a reputation for solid Gospel preaching and leading God only knows how many people to Christ is a bad thing, I don't think it's unreasonable to call attention to that.

You're right that this isn't a debate forums and, indeed, I did not debate anyone.

All I did was to ask a couple of questions and quote Tom T. Hall.

It's a little unreasonable to bring up something as controversial as Chick Tracts and not expect someone else to have an opinion.

    Same here.

I remember being a new Christian and leaving them is phone booths (which is littering, by the way).

Now, I'm embarrassed that I had a hand in passing along Chick's hatred.
