CHOSEN FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

    John 9.1-3
    It is hard to explain this statement of Christ without having compassion and pity on the blind man or for the death of the Lazarus in John 11.4. The answer to these particular cases lies in the answers of the Jesus Himself Who said that the blind man and the mortal sickness of Lazarus each created for the Glory of GOD.

    Many men in Israel at that time had been blind and mortally sick, but to reveal GOD'S glory, only these two men had been chosen by Jesus.

    It seems that GOD did not chose in random any of the men in Israel to reveal His Glory on them, but chose specific ones, probably according to their personality and character. Of course, both of these men suffered greatly and unwillingly and even without their consent and knowledge became chosen for one specific action of GOD to reveal His Glory on them. But still, despite their great suffering in their lives, surely both of them received their great reward from GOD, for which certainly was worth to suffer for.

    GOD also revealed His Glory in many other ways, through His prophets for example, who conducted extraordinary signs and miracles by the power of the Mighty GOD. The life of the prophets was completely under authority and control of GOD, even their private life. Because of it they are also suffered greatly, but again, their reward surely is great.

    ~ Isaiah 8.3-4.18 and Ezekiel 24.15-24. Being a prophet often greatly affected these servants' personal family life. GOD could use such simple functions as the naming of a child to carry out His purpose (Isaiah 8.3-4). For Hosea, there was a need to have him take a wife of harlotry (Hosea 1.1-9, 3.1-5. A.G.), but for Jeremiah, it was best that he does not marry at all (Jeremiah 16.1-2-4. A.G).
    In Ezekiel's case, he was forbidden to mourn the death of his wife publicly, as a sign to his fellow captives in Babylon that when they would get word shortly that Jerusalem had fallen, they were not to show public anguish.
