    Christian Standard Bible (PartII) ...

    Let's try this again, shall we? (And I'll try to ignore sarcastic remarks). ;)

    In any case, I'd appreciate knowing your thoughts and opinions regarding the Christian Standard Bible (CSB). Thank you.

    The CSB is a fine translation.
    I am not a fan of the word "blessed" regularly being replaced with the word "happy". *The NET uses happy a lot as well.*

    Most of my issues with it are incredibly minor and mostly in the OT. I find the ESV, NASB1995 and 2020, and NIV to be more satisfactory in the OT.

    I am currently in the process of reading the CSB cover to cover for the 2nd straight year. Overall, I would say it is a very good transaltion.

    I've recently made the CSB my primary Bible translation. And I'm very happy with my decision.

    The CSB is now in it's 2020 edition. My copy is the 2017 edition. I also have the 2004 HCSB edition. I have them for reference.

    I find the CSB to be the perfect balance between "word for word," and "thought for thought."

    One thing I really like about the CSB is its "economy of words." This really helps with the "readability" factor.

    Between the HCSB and the CSB, which do you prefer (overall)?

    I would choose the HCSB over the CSB. Though in practice the newer CSB is the one pull from the shelf to look up a reference.

    Better then the Niv 2011 in that regard, still prefer though more formal versions such as nas and Nkjv!

    The NIV has always been known to be in that sweet spot between functional and formal.

    The Csb more so, as it leans to more formal, while Niv more functional

    So if the CSB leans toward the more formal, then the NIV is exactly where it has always been --occupying the middle ground. To the left is the CSB and to the right the NET.

    I've noticed that the CSB (like the NIV) seems to use fewer words than other translations.

    I'd love to have a "word count" for both the CSB and the NIV!
