With each election cycle, whether it's a general or midterm election, it seems like there are those certain Christian's who's one-size-fits-all answer to everything political is prayer, prayer and more prayer. Yet, when you ask them if they're interested in volunteering for a
candidate who's favorable public stand with pro-life, or the right to keep and bear arms, pro-homeschooling, and just favors general liberties and more protections for religious liberty, these same Christian's will say: "Oh no, I can't. I really can't. That's for someone else
to do. My place is here in the Lord's house."
What good is "being in the Lord's house" when the government comes looking for you, for
example, to take you away to unknown location for an attitude adjustment? That's an extreme example for sure, but even so, who would fight for you then?
Then there are those who will not enter a government building wearing a Jesus button on their lapel or wearing a T-shirt glorifying God because they are convinced it's a violation of separation of church and state.
We have too many Christian's sitting around, twiddling their thumbs, while everyone else does the dirty work, because such Christian's don't want to get their manicured hands dirty. The world doesn't mind getting down and dirty in the mud to get their point across, and they usually win. Then we wonder why our foundations of morality and liberty are always in peril.
I take no prisoner's when dealing with hostile, unsaved people. I don't make excuses for their conduct, as some more passive Christian's would do. I simply remember what Paul wrote in Romans 1: 18-32. Unsaved people, no matter what their station in life, no matter how evil they are, they have the Law of God written on the tablet's of their heart. It's called the conscience of knowing right from wrong, so they are without excuse.
Yes, I do exercise discretion. There are truly unsaved people out there looking for real answers and I'm happy to share it with them, making Christ No. 1.
