    Do you think it is necessary to integrate into your church bylaws/policy about the use of your building and staff for weddings for same sex marriage?

    Necessary? Perhaps. Good church policy? Absolutely. I know more than a few churches that have written white papers or addendums to their doctrinal statement/by-laws to address the issue. Of the most common forms being that the church property can only be used by church members in good standing.

    It is absolutely necessary. We have done it 2 ways: through our statement of faith that says that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman (polygamy will be the next battleground) and through our building use policies that limit the use of our buildings only to church related activities.

    We have made it a policy that we won't be the state's agent for marriages anymore.
