Planned high-rise two blocks away will upset the church's stained glass aesthetics:

Old South Church puts a $19 million price on sunlight - The Boston Globe
Old South Church has put a price on sunlight: $19 million. That’s how much the historic Copley Square church wants developer Boston Properties to pay as compensation for shadows a planned tower at Back Bay Station would cast on the 142-year-old church, potentially causing moisture damage to masonry and darkening stained-glass windows.

Well it is in Boston so we've got to expect this.

After all Jesus said that as Christian's we could expect suffering. ;)

We should all pray that they get through this terrible injustice and be a model of Christ to the world.

If you read the article, most of the money they want would go to affordable housing projects. $4m would go to repairs to the church.

It's an interesting situation, one on which I haven't made my mind up about yet. I do know that if I were there church, I'd be ticked off, though.

So their justification means: 'The church will pay for the high-rise apartments but keep them out of the neighborhood.'
