Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan has fantasized about going back in time and killing "an infant" George W. Bush, thereby preventing the war in Iraq.

That's according to her upcoming book "Peace Mom," in which Sheehan also says she regrets voting for John Kerry, who left her "unimpressed."

Radar magazine reports Sheehan calls Sen. John McCain a liar for denying that he told her that her son will probably end up having died "for nothing," and calls Sen. Hillary Clinton "a conservative in liberal clothing," adding, "We don't need another power monger in the White House."

I'm sorry for her loss, but this woman has some serious mental issues that need immediate attention.

    WOO WOO!
We got a major story in the making.
We can all now get our kicks by demeaning Cindy some more.
A NEWSFLASH, Cindy Sheehan is a nut case, we expect her to do and say nutty things.

You're right about this being a non-story. However, the incessant hacks on the left will "amen" her, regardless...and those on the right will find ways of castigating her into oblivion. People need to stop putting a microphone in front of her. We have more substantive people that need hearing from.

Is it ironic that all the reasoned, factual criticism of Bush damaged his place in history less than the ravings of a deranged woman?

Ms. Sheehan is a sad case. I feel sorry for her. She needs to shut up.

Cindy Sheehan is a sad, miserable, angry woman.

I hope the Secret Service (etc) knocks on her door for this. Maybe a few nights in federal prison would do her good. Give her time to get away from the crowds, the noise, and force her to deal with her very real demons. I can't say she would not completely break down emotionally/mentally but, still, she needs to face her situation head on. Her son is dead, he is not coming back, nothing she has said/done has helped him in any way, nor will it change the facts of history. She needs to get away from the crowds and deal with her demons.

There are mentally/emotionally disturbed people on both sides of the fence.

    Look at Ann Coulter:

Right-wing pundit Ann Coulter titled her August 30 syndicated column on the Rhode Island Senate race: "They Shot the Wrong Lincoln."
    http://http://mediamatters.org/items/200608310001

As quoted in an August 26, 2002, New York Observer article, Coulter had previously stated: "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."
    http://mediamatters.org/items/200606300008

Ann Coulter refused to explain -- and even expanded upon -- her recent claim that Rep. John P. Murtha is "the reason soldiers invented fragging," military slang meaning the intentional killing of a member of one's own unit. On a Denver radio show, Coulter referred to her fragging comment as one of her "best lines" and refused to confirm that she was not "suggesting that anybody should off John Murtha," stating only: "It is what it is." On Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, Coulter further expanded upon her statement, asserting that if Murtha "did get fragged, he'd finally deserve one of those Purple Hearts."

As TomVols and KenH have noted, it is truly sad that she lost her son. It explains the bitterness she has. I wonder what happened to Ann Coulter.......

    Regards,
    BiR

It's just an example of how far the extreme right has drifted away from American principles.

If a deranged woman says something harmless but offensive to the president, throw her in prison and destroy her emotionally.

If you vote for democrats this fall, likely you will be just removing one crook and replacing him with another.

But we have to root out the worship of the state that has progressed so far in this decade. It would be better if we could toss out both parties. But we must do something, or our children will not know what it is like to live in a free society.

Yep. For example, the anti-gambling law just passed by the Congress is just one more step on the road to serfdom.

    What happened to Ann Coulter

I think she should pull her bed out from being up against the wall or turn it around 180 degrees so she can try getting out of the right side of the bed in the morning for a change. It certainly can't hurt. But for all I know, maybe she wraps herself in bat wings at night and dangles upside-down from the ceiling, as some rare, diurnal form of vampire. I'm not sure what made her the way she is, but if I was a gambling man I'd bet more on pride than bitterness.

I am a Christian and a Republican, and I was personally offended at her suggestion that "[w]e should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." Her statement reveals telling ignorance of Christianity at best, and likely a serious misunderstanding. Her statement has more in common with fundamentalist Islamic type thinking than any kind of Christian thought. I'm ashamed she's Republican, and can't help but wonder at the condition of her heart. :(

    With this I can agree.

I disagree. I hope she continues to take advantage of her first ammendment right. She is the face of the liberal isolationists. Deranged and nutty.

==O, why thank you very much. I love it when I am accused of being "extreme right" by people who don't know me from Adam. What I find even more interesting is that the "right" says I am not "right" enough and the "left" says I am extreme "right". Wow! Sort of like the Calvinism issue. By Calvinists I get accused of being a bit soft on certain points, the Arminians say I am a hard core Calvinist. I guess it just depends what side of the fence you are sitting on?

==Any threat to the President should be taken seriously. As far as I can tell Sheehan threatened the President of the United States. I don't care if the President is Bush, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, or Michael Moore. Any threat should be taken seriously and no threat should be viewed as harmless.

    ==True.

If Ms. Shehan has a time machine and can pull it off, whose to say we wouldn't now be in the regime of President (Jeb) Bush. Better to go back in time and convince George H.W. to get a vasectomy before having kids. Or even Prescott Bush for that matter.:tongue3::laugh:

(Sheehan says she once dreamed of harming Bush)

Wow. Sheehan "threatened" Bush by dreaming about him? You know, there's a little vignette in "1984" about that. There's this guy, a complete compliant herd animal, who the protagonist is sure will never be in trouble, because he calmly accepts whatever Big Brother says.

But he does get in trouble. His kid reports that she heard him having a disloyal dream. And he's a goner.

It took a little longer than 1984, and so far, it's just an ambition of some extremists, but "crimethink" is definitely on the table, now. The fact that there are people posting here, who think it's a good idea, is a measure of how far we have fallen from the ideals of the men who founded America.

Just so everyone knows, it's not illegal to dream about doing anything illegal.

But Bush & Co. are working on it.

Ann Coulter! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! She recently told Beliefnet.com that she's a Christian. Here are some of her "Christian" quotes:

"(Canadians) better hope the United States does not roll over one night and crush them. They are lucky we allow them to exist on the same continent." Fox News, Hannity & Colmes, November 30, 2004.

"God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, 'Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours.'" Fox News, Hannity & Colmes, June 20, 2001.

Beliefnet.com: You say that the Episcopal Church is "barely even a church." Why?

Ann Coulter: Because it's become increasingly difficult to distinguish the pronouncements of the Episcopal Church from the latest Madonna video.

Beliefnet.com: Are churches that don't agree with your politics or religious beliefs not really churches?

Ann Coulter: Correct. They're called "mosques."

Beliefnet.com: Do you attend church frequently? Do you pray, and whom and what do you pray for?

Ann Coulter: Yes and yes. I pretend to attend a giant church in New York City, where I pray for the souls of people who claim I've never been there. I pray for mercy and divine protection from God's enemies. When I'm in a jaunty mood, I pray for Him to smite liberals.

Can't you just feel the agape love? NOT!!!!!!! :(

==No. She threatened the President by telling people about her dream. I wonder what her followers thought of her "revelation"? Where they shocked? Was she shocked at her own dream? Let's be logical for a second...How could she, or anyone else, threaten anyone with a dream she has in her sleep? She can't. The fact that she gave voice to that dream is what troubles me. At the very least she should be questioned as to why she felt the need to give voice to this dream.

And again this is not about President Bush (pro or con). As I said I would be saying this no matter who the president was. So let's drop the proBush line because that is not what this is about (as anyone who read what I said will know). This is about the fact that there are certain lines that should never be crossed.

    Barbarian asks, incredulously:
Sheehan "threatened" Bush by dreaming about him?

That explains, it. In "1984", the man threatened Big Brother when his daughter told police that he had dreamed against him. Crimethink, but only if you don't keep it secret. I get it.

(for those wondering, dreaming about harming someone, and even mentioning that you did dream about it, is not a crime. The hold-up seems to be the Bill of Rights, but Bush has endorsed a plan to limit the ability of courts to provide due process.

(Big Brother wants to know what the people are thinking. So He has a right to haul them in and make them say)

"Crimethink" wouldn't be an issue if it was any other president.

"Shouldn't" and "can't" are two different things. We shouldn't be talking about arresting and questioning someone for dreaming something unapproved. In fact, if you have your way, it would be possible to arrest you for sedition for suggesting that we do it.

    Ironic, um?
