I don't live in a city. I live in the coastal town of Paignton, in South West England. As far as I know, Paignton itself doesn't have a nickname, but together with the neighbouring towns of Torquay and Brixham, it forms an area known as Torbay, which is nicknamed "the English Riviera".

Brisbane was often spoken of as Brisneyland....an obvious takeoff from Disneyland.

Wanganui/Whanganui is a well kept secret gem of a wee town. It has an undeserved reputation of being gangsterville because of our late unlamented mayor suffers from foot in mouth disease.:wavey:

Frankfort, NY has the nation's highest density of Americans of Italian descent. We don't have a community nickname that can be repeated here but we do have a village slogan. "Wadda you lookin' at?"
