Classified leaks . . . support which party? While I am not certain that these leaks are intended to support a particular party, leaking classified information is (IMHO) treasonous.

Here we go again . . . can we hire some government leaches that can keep classified - classified? It's not like that job is difficult. All that you have to do is keep your mouth shut and server your country . . .

Let the reporters make their own negative reports on the status of world wide terrorism. Let the intel gurus use open sources and pull out their own assessments. But, why are we paying people to keep secrets that cannot keep secrets?

Intelligence failures have led to most of our major defeats throughout our history.

What's going on, is the military is just about fed up with the incompetence and corruption at the top of DOD. And now, some of them are leaking the truth that Bush would rather we not know.

How long do you think they were going to tolerate it?

So why are you all up in arms about leaking at the same time you are defending it? It is either right or wrong. You can't play it both ways. Well, you can ... but you shouldn't. It is wrong to be a hypocrite.

Who is defending it? I'm saying that they got fed up with Bush and leakedthe truth. You made up the part about me defending it, for reasons anyone can see.

Bush, BTW, knew about this from April on, and continued to lie to us about the situayion. Sixteen intelligence agencies in the US government have concluded and reported to Bush that invading Iraq increased the danger to Americans from terrorism, and yet he continued to tell us the opposite.

    This is arguably impeachable misconduct.

Soldiers and Republicans go to jail for leaking classified. . . Democrats don't . . .

So if someone goes to jail - you might be right . . .

    Galatian,

Your comments seem at the very least sympathetic to it. Aren't you the one who several weeks ago argued that leaks were okay if they gave the people information that they needed to know?

The truth is that there has not been an attack on American soil or American interests since 9/11 that I can recall. That's a pretty good record.

Don't remember that. But if you can rearrange meaing enough to construe approval of leaking classified material by what I wrote about it, it's likely you could imagineer any opinion you wanted me to have.

Too bad that Bush dismantled the protections we had before 9/11. It's a good thing to close the barn doors, but even better to do it before the horses get out.

When leaks come from within the administration, it will often be to benefit one department over another or even one person's personal ambition.

Another aspect is how much is classified to benefit the classifiers rather than to protect national security?

actually larry the anthrax killer is still at large no one knows if that is home grown or not...but the bottom line the bush culture and bush administration has put this on the back burner ..so yes terrorism has happened after 9/11 is the real truth.
