Clear evidence liberals neither care about rule of law or constitution

The allegation made by Christine Blasey Ford — that at age 15 she was the victim of a sexual assault by a 17-year-old Brett Kavanaugh — has not only upended Judge Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings, but has also left Americans wondering what standards should apply to an accusation like this.
It’s natural to place this sort of accusation within a criminal-justice framework: the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt; the presumption of innocence; the right to confront and respond to an accuser. If Judge Kavanaugh stood criminally accused of attempted rape, all of that would apply with full force. But those concepts are a poor fit for Supreme Court confirmation hearings, where there’s no presumption of confirmation, and there’s certainly no burden that facts be established beyond a reasonable doubt.
What matters here isn’t law as much as politics — though not (or not just) partisan politics. Confirmation hearings are also about constitutional politics — the debate, involving both institutions of government and the polity, about what the Constitution means and requires.
So what standard should the Senate use in evaluating the claims made by Dr. Blasey and in deciding how they bear on Judge Kavanaugh’s fitness for a seat on the Supreme Court? The Senate’s approach to its constitutional “advice and consent” obligation has always depended on context. A number of factors matter: the timing of the vacancy; the justice being replaced; the nominee’s likely impact on the ideological makeup of the court; even the popularity of the president (very popular presidents have always had more leeway when it comes to picking justices). Then, of course, there’s the nominee.

Opinion | How Strong Does the Evidence Against Kavanaugh Need to Be? …

Anyone that uses this allegation for an excuse not to vote for Kavanaugh already had their mind made up, end of story.

Sen. Kirstin Gillibrand was very clear that she cares not one whit about the rule of law. Judge Kavenaugh is guilty she said as the accuser is obviously telling the truth. And this comes from a lawyer, a U.S. Senator no less. With people like her in elected office, it's no wonder our country is in dire straights.

What a staggering bit of breaking news this is! After reading the entire article, I now know that the New York Times is wiling to print an OPINION in the editorial section by a liberal female Law Professor and Activist stating her OPINION that the mere accusation against the Supreme Court nominee is enough to disqualify him.

Who would have ever guessed?
Why hasn’t Fox News picked up this story and led with it!

The whole thing is irrelevant - if it even happened it happened in high school and I would think a man should be judged on his adult lifetime of solid work, not one incident from his juvenile period.

There is something beyond that :

The issue of justice has been sidestepped by both sides.
This mess has turned into a media farce.

Neither Dr. Ford or Judge Kavanaugh will be served, both will be "damaged goods" in the aftermath.

The vote will be strictly partisan.

The letter should have come forth in July.

I thought for sure this post was going to be about Keith Ellison's statement at a recent debate that women sometimes make up stories about abuse, and the fact that the MSM is barely covering the Karen Monahan allegations against Ellison despite having several credible witnesses corroborating her charges.

Ellison is running for Attorney General of Minnesota.

The only thing that matters here is ideology. Gillibrand doesn't care anything about the law or the truth or her constitutional duty as a senator.

Fox is now in the hands of Murdoch's sons who are not conservative. When you become filthy rich, you distance yourself from problems by going liberal often.
