I just don't believe him. He has been know to be dishonest ("I didn't have sex with that woman"). We lived in Arkansas when he was running for Gov. there, and my wife personally caught him in a lie. I just don't believe much of anything he says. He's a chameleon - he says what the listeners what to hear.

    I don't.

He had a chance to fight for his own country and lied to avoid it.

Some people believe he is the AC. Let's face it, if he was sent over there to negotiate, he could probably bring a temporary peace to the region.

Meanwhile, if an Iranian-Hezbollah rocket hits a US or UK ship evacuating people, look for it all to break loose over there. It would be ironic if one of the mis-guided missles ended up striking the gaudy mosque on the Dome of the Rock, IMO. It will be going one way or another one of these days...

Call me cynical, but I think his enthusiasm has to do with being at a Jewish fundraising event.

Yeah, he might have done it. Clinton is the typical intuitive thinking type. He has no committment to whatever everyone else believes, but whatever he believes in, he really believes in. This is how Gingritch kept getting bushwacked by Clinton; he assumed Clinton had no principles. So, in the budget battles, he assumed Clinton would take the easy way out.

Milosovitch made the same mistake in Bosnia and Kosovo.

However, it matters little whether or not Clinton would grab a rifle and fight; it matters a lot whether or not he would have backed Israel with US military power. And that, he would have done.

I'd like to think if Clinton was pres now, he'd be on the phone, asking Israel what it needed.

Me, too. I really liked him as a President, even though he embarrassed our country by his personal failings. But then, King David wasn't perfect, either.

Notice though, that it appears that Bush did sometning right this time. If the reports are right, he called up Syria, and said "Stay out of it."

If so, he deserves credit for using a little sense. That would have been the Clinton approach. "Leave them alone, and you won't have to worry about me."

Save the hammer for the times you really need it. And use the threat that you will use it when necessary to get what you want.

I agree that he did a good job, although I am offended by his adulterous behavior.
