Nigeria records chloroquine poisoning after Trump endorses it for coronavirus treatment

Health officials in Nigeria have issued a warning over chloroquine after they said three people in the country overdosed on the drug, in the wake of President Trump's comments about using it to treat coronavirus.

A Lagos state official told CNN that three people were hospitalized in the city after taking the drug.

US President Donald Trump claimed at a White House briefing last week that the Food and Drug Administration had approved the "very powerful" drug chloroquine to treat coronavirus.

Trump's endorsement of the drug led to a surge of interest among Nigerians keen to stock up on the medication, which has led to inevitable price hikes in the megacity of around 20 million inhabitants.

Some observations.

* Title of the web page where this fake news is seen is called Facts First. That is ironic.
* No Nigerian is quoted as saying they took the drug because Trump endorsed it.
* I doubt many Nigerians watch the White House press briefings
* If any Nigerians saw Trump speaking about chloroquine they likely saw it on CNN International. More irony.
* The statement in the article: Trump's endorsement of the drug led to a surge of interest among Nigerians keen to stock up on the medication is mind-reading and is the very definition of Fake News.

CNN seems to be in the "Make Trump Look Bad" business rather than the "Report the News" business.

My wife saw a report this AM on the news crawl of a couple in Arizona taking FISH TANK CLEANER as a virus preventative because it had Hydrochloroquine listed as an ingredient. One died, the other is in serious condition. Both tested negative for Covid-19.
Man dies, wife in critical care after ingesting chloroquine for COVID-19

Waiting for the news to declare it's Trump's fault.
Here ya go...

No doubt the Dems are foaming at the mouth to blame Trump for the virus and to fault him for his reaction. Never let a good crises go to waste. ...so childish and dishonest.

Personally, I think we're very fortunate to have his leadership over Ms. "At this point, what difference does it make?!"

I wonder if any of them were my contact there, a Nigerian prince who never followed through on his promise to sign over his inheritance for my financial help. I think I'm still owed millions. Maybe CNN will look into the matter for me.
