Coach Zook

I think I heard on ESPN that his Florida team beat FSU tonight, which is something that Spurrior never did.

Beat FSU IN Tallahassee. Hasn't been done since Galen Hall in 1986.

 

Zook is a very good coach that really didn't have a chance following Spurrier. Those shoes were just too big, the comparisons never ended. Though he had a few growing pains he did a fine job. Whoever follows him will have a great team to work with, the cupboard is not bare as it was when the "Ole Ball Coach" moved on. If I were Washington, I would be on the phone yesterday! Or, think about this...what if Florida hires Myer (a real possiblity) and Utah turns around and hires Zook? That would be great!

 

Only a fool would take the Florida job even now.

Zook's recruiting looks good on paper but was not on par with Spurrior. (I don't like either one of them btw)

Zook is not a very good coach and is even worse at head coach. He was moved by Spurrior to special teams coach for failing to perform. It is obvious that he has lax team discipline... and may even need some discipline himself.

Zook should recognize his limitations and find a good position coach or coordinator job.

PS- Now we will see how good "the Ole Ball Coach" really is. The Gamecocks have been cursed forever. He could almost win me over if he gets them to the top tier.
