    Good Morning!

Sue, did you have to remind us? But we are happy, we have rain, rain, 3/4 of an inch.

Going to pick up grandkids today. They are out of school...a snow day that they didn't need in the winter.

I have a granddaughter that is graduating from the 2year college, but she has three more years at least to go. She is happy! She just bought a car!

There are 17 graduating high school from our church this year. Received the first invitation yesterday and a wedding invitation for two of them.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I said Good Morning in the other Coffee House and didn't realize I threw it to page 20. [IMG]

Brayden slept until 9:00 and is in a very good mood. He's going through a stage of not eating well. Mom had breast fed him until she began working a few weeks ago and he much prefers the taste of formula to foods. Extra sweet, I think...

I only have the two of them and Max in the afternoon until Ty returns on Tuesday. I made a calendar on my computer because the moms have such odd schedules! Different days each week and different times each day! I am going to 'help out' a church mom and keep her two boys for 10 weeks this summer. The local daycare near her house wanted $200~ and she had to bring snacks and drink once a week for the whole class!

Good evening everyone....It's been a long but interesting day. First Viv and I made the trek into Shelbyville dropping off the garbage in Deason's convenience center. We went through Lowe's and found several things we needed, but not the part we needed most for the riding mower. We're probably going to have to special order that part and wait seven to ten days for it to come in. We stopped by Wal-Mart and Vivian ran in and got a few items we needed and we came home. We had barely finished lunch when my pastor called and said that the Childrens and Youth ministers wife had fallen at the church while doing some things and had to crawl to her truck to her cell phone for help and was in surgery as we spoke. Brother Doug (her husband) was at the hospital in Murfreesboro waiting. He is supposed to preach this Sunday, but may not be able to....so, he asked preacher to call and put me on "standby". I told Preacher that was ok, if Doug couldn't preach, I would fill in if needed. I'm hoping he'll be able to preach since I've never heard him preach. But, I know his wife is in great pain right now. We got in the car and drove into Murfreesboro to the hospital to see her and she was out of surgery and in a room...and resting comfortably for the moment (wait til them pain killers wear off!) Anyhow, they put one LONG screw up through the bottom of her heel into her ankle, and then three more screws in various other places. Please, remember to keep her and Brother Doug in prayer...her name is Kay. VBS is only a few weeks away and she's not going to be able to do a whole lot, so Vivian and I will be filling in and doing what is necessary to fill in the gap. Guess the Lord is wanting us more involved and for Bro. Doug and Sis Kay to take a little bit less upon themselves.

Anyhow, we're back home now and have a very busy weekend ahead of us now...at least moreso than we had planned on.

If I'm not on much this weekend I'll talk to ya'll on Monday! God bless and have a great evening. [IMG]

Oh Tony! How awful! The Lord put you and Viv there for such a time as this.

Well I spoke too soon. Brayden has screamed, fussed and ripped at his hair, bitten his hands, refused to eat and only dozed off at about 5:15. I feel sure he's teething but the poor kid made us all miserable. I can't just 'hold' him because he's head banging and kicking... and my eye has to be protected for another 6 weeks. Brayden will be 1 on Sunday. He wanted my Pepsi! His sister said his father is giving them Coke at night. No wonder he doesn't want milk! A couple of Cheerio's was it for today.

I still have 3 kids and hubby came in from work early with a BAD headache. He took something and is laying on our bed. Hope it passes soon and the parents surprise me and come early tonight.

    Evening all!

It's been another one of those days when things happened faster than I could keep up.

Yard sale started today. We didn't have as good turnout as in years past. I hope tomorrow I can get rid of this stuff! While I was sitting out in the yard, I also was finishing up paperwork for the school. Then I my FIL and I got to noticing there were alot of little bugs flying around. Even though it is aweful late for termites to swarm around here and I've never seen them swarm without rain the day before, I'm pretty sure that is what they are. They seemed to be coming from where the chimney connects to the house. Cook's is coming out Monday(we were already on the schedule for our yearly check).

Then Precious called from her school needing medicine. After that, I spent another hour and a half at Son and Bitsy's school finishing up that paperwork and getting it out to where it goes. I got some good news while I was there. Son is going into 5th grade next year. For the last 3 years the kids have moved from one class/teacher to another instead of having one teacher teaching every subjects. When Precious(straight A, gifted student) went through 5th grade, she had so many problems that I didn't want to even think about dealing with them with Son(not straight A or gifted) who misses 30 or more days a year. I was at the school almost every day dealing with Precious' problems, it's not something I was looking forward to repeating.

Anyway, being the proactive parent I am, while I had the principal's ear I suggested that before school starts back again that we have another 504 meeting so all the teachers had a good idea of what Son's problems are and what they would have to do to catch him up when he misses.......etc.

Principal told me they were going back to single classroom learning. One teacher will teach all subjects to the kids in his/her class. HOORAY!!!!!

This is wonderful news on a day that hasn't been very wonderful. After school, the mother of Son's best friend Cade, came and asked me to keep Cade for a while so she could try to straighten out issue with her older stepson who got himself arrested for theft. :( They have had so much trouble with that one. Cade was quite upset at finding out his big brother was in jail again. Big brother is barely 18 and had just recently been allowed to move back into the home.

So now I'm home and nursing a bit of headache of my own.

Well, I went to bed a little over an hour ago and just woke up in the middle of a nightmare with a splitting headache.

I got up to take some aspirin and am not quite ready to try it again...

    Pleasant dreams all!

Hopefully, I will be back in bed soon.

We lock threads, when they reach page 20, and start a new thread. It saves on bandwidth.

    Good morning all:

Boy! That was certainly a short night! I didn't get back to sleep until after 2:00 and I still have my headache. Not sure what's going on.

It's 57º right now with light rain. Forecast is thunderstorms today with a high of 69º. 44º tonight and back up to 60º tomorrow.

    Cruising,
    §ue (need more aspirin)

Sue---be sure to #1 Drink plenty of water----8 glasses/day----tea, coffee, coke-a-colas don't count but will make headaches worse.

#2 Don't lay down while watching TV(I'm not sayin' you do or don't watch TV)

#3 Now that its warmed up there in Illonois---you can get outside more! Get out more!

Personally-----Blackbird loves the smell of gasoline/diesel exhaust while he's working in the garden---that tends to agrivate and brings on headaches more often---But Blackbird is caught in a "trap" (like an old man puffin' away at his Pall Mall's) and finds a few headaches now and then as a "fine trade-off" to being able to smell that lovely exhaust!!!---Don't worry, though----Blackbird knows how far he can go in inhalin' the lovely aroma----and he expressly does not do it in a closed in garage!!! [IMG] [IMG]

PS---Sue?? You haven't been sniffin' any exhaust fumes lately, have you???? Just don't want you to fall into the same bad nasty habit that Blackbird has!!!! [IMG] [IMG]

    Thanks, Dr. Blackbird!

I can't STAND the smell of exhaust fumes!

I have been getting outside everyday for the past year delivering papers and doing the school crossing...

    I drink plenty of water.

I think this headache came from the stupid dream I had last night! I was trying to protect Brent from something - not sure what - but wasn't doing very well...

Of course, it might be from the pollen too. The count in our area has been pretty high lately.

I am going to have some fried eggs, toast, and grits for breakfast.

    CYAL,

Good Morning Everyone, It's going to be 85° today so I'm trying to get some things done early on. I'm STILL tired. Little Brayden crying all day yesterday really wore me out! I don't have any kids until 10:15 Monday now.... except Sunday School.

Sue, those grits (with NO sugar) will help that headache. ;) Hope it passes soon!

    Morning Diane,

I had my grits with butter, salt, and pepper. I am going to try and lay down for a bit.

It could be sinus too, my eyelids are hurting...

Poor Sue!! I bet if you put sugar on dem grits instead of salt and pepper, that'd help!!

Sugar! Tater Tot! Go wash your mouth out with SOAP! Wait til Granny hears this! LOL

Sue, it might be a sinus infection from all the pollen. My eyes are bugging me .... and our pollen isn't that high but I react to grass pollens.

I don't know you folks, but I missed the charming closing statement of Sue on the Common Ground Coffee House #78. In fact, Brother Blackbird bear me out on this, that may be the reason Sue must have had a nightmare and a headache because her conscience was bothering her for not closing the thread with her usual charm and sweetness, letting people know that the thread is being closed.... and welcoming folks to the next number (in this case 79). [IMG]

Sue, I can identify with your headaches though, I frequently have it when the weather change. My remedy is a can of cool Dr Pepper.... Now it was interesting that Diane suggests that grits with no sugar will do the trick? Not with me! I couldn't have grits without sugar, for it would not be real genuine headache healing grits! ;)

Yesterday Lenke and I were out at the country house, for we had several appointments with contractors. Need to install new gutters with leaders, and have to change the windows to be energy efficient. While we were waiting for the contractors to arrive, we had three geese on our property. They were soaking in the morning sun on the beach. Even though I tiptoed to the porch to take their pictures, they noticed the movement and took off. But not before I took their picture..... and boy, were they loud! [IMG] Here is the link to the picture:

    http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-2/958970/CountryHouse05-13-2005A.JPG

Trust that you folks will have a great day, with no headaches, and no sugarless grits! [IMG]

Tater: Sometimes I eat grits with milk and sugar, but this morning I was in the mood for real butter, salt, and pepper. Yummmmmm! ;)

Diane: It gets to me everytime our grass is mowed.

Barnabas: You are probably right and I have gone back and corrected that oversight (my conscience is soothed). Love the pics! [IMG]

NS: Thanks! My DDP and 'sugarless' grits seem to be helping - plus 6 aspirin tablets - so far...
