Wow, time for another CH! Amazing!

Gonna go and have lunch and take me iron pills before I get the rap of a knuckle upside me head from me bride! ;)

What's everyone else having for lunch today?

I fed the boys and had 1/2 of a breafast bar for lunch. I'm never hungry until supper time. Worse time of all to eat a big meal! Even as a child, I never ate breakfast or lunch. I have tried to cut down on my Pepsi's tho.

What a gorgeous day again today! Low 70°'s with a strong breeze and a slightly grayish sky. Lazy, lazy day!

Karen, I could not afford the $80. fee! YIKES! I'd love to find a Jazzercize around here. I did that for many years and Loved it! It was high impact and I think it would take me a while to adjust but not that long!

I just saw a long report on diet sodas that gave them a bad rap. Now I won't use artificial sweetners. (Edited to say: NEVER used them!)

I won't drink the diet soda's. I have an allergic reaction (migraines/cluster headaches) from the aspertame in them. I don't really like Splenda either. Have a brother in law who worked with some of the products of splenda and nutra sweet and they weren't as wholesome as some would like to think. So, I'll just drink a regular soda now and again.

Tony, Son also can't drink diet drinks for the same reason.

I think the biggest reason that people gain weight from drinking diet drinks is the mentatlity that since they are saving calories in their drink they can have that little extra to eat.

diet soda's can lead to Severe Migrains. In fact any artifical sweetner can.

Here's another tip. Once the artifical sweetner gets to a specific temp it turns to formaldahyde (YUCK) and then changes back after the temp lowered.

:-/ Splenda sounds like the best alternative.
Although sugar has just 15 calories per teaspoon (last time i checked )

Yep, Wendy, I think you're right. The funniest thing I ever saw was a woman with a diet pepsi and three big macs, large fries, two apple pies and a sundae! I nearly died laughing. I couldn't believe it, and my wife nearly dropped our drink on the way out when we saw it! [IMG] [IMG]

Isn't that the truth! I've seen people with plates piled sky high at buffets demand 'Diet Coke' as if that will negate the calories on their platter of fried, greasy, gravy ladened gunk!

Of course, some of us in that exclusive club we call diabetics, can handle the fat at least somewhat, but not the sugar.
Now I don't have a gall bladder anymore, so I don't really handle the fat too well, either.

If we go out to a buffet, we usually eat the broiled chicken and fresh veggies and fruits. We usually will drink water or tea, and try to watch the carb intake pretty well. Lately, though, because of how nasty some of the food has looked on buffets, we eat at home or at church when they have a dinner.

Debby, I'm diabetic and I HAVE to watch what I eat very carefully. If I "indulge" today, for several days, I'm awfully good...I mean strict to the hilt!

Soda is just not real good for you in large amounts no matter how you take it. They are coming out with versions sweetened with Splenda that may be a litle better. Still they need to be taken moderately.

At our house we have members of three different clubs. T is diabetic, I'm hypoglycemic and Son has migraines. Lots of fun at the grocery store let me tell you. Son can't have things like aged cheese, beans and home made bread. Those are good for T, especially if I make whole wheat bread. Drinks are the same, T drinks diet and Son sugared.

By the time we take out everthing that one or the other can't eat, we're not left with much. Our diet consists of meat and salad, with a little pasta thrown in(not good for T, but he can handle it once a week or so).

Tony, lunch today was a lean cusiene and some mac n cheese(Son can have processed cheese thank goodness).

I hope it hasn't gotten too hot outside. I haven't made it to the mower yet. The mail brought some business I had to take care of first. Thankfully, it was a good outcome.

Diet soda doesn't cancel calories? I thought my clothes were shrinking!

We just moved to the western part of NY a month ago. They don't have soda in WNY. It's called pop, so I have been told.

I drink club soda when I have to have something fizzy. Usually just coffee or plain water.

We're blessed not to have to watch what we eat other than black or white pepper upsets us now where cayenne won't! I've tried to always cook healthy because Jim's family has such a long line of bad hearts and high blood pressure. His heart is good and strong. Thank the Lord!

I STILL have no idea what's for supper. Jim won't be home until late again and I'm wanting veggies. So far I've just got lima beans and okra cooking. I may skip meat altogether for me. We have some left over chicken I can heat up for Jim and Nick. Jon never eats at home. He sleeps too late and then grabs some fast food to eat on his way. His 'supper' is in the middle of the night and he usually has a big breakfast at the Waffle House before coming home and going to bed.

Don't know what we're having here, either Diane! I'm just not sure what I'm in the mood for. Viv doesn't know either. I think that she's thinking breakfast again. We really didn't get to have much of a breakfast this past weekend with all the stuff going on. I could use another cup of coffee, I know that for sure! Think I'll go and put on a pot!

Err dinner is it that time again already. Well, I don't know what we are going to have either. I got home from the doctor and I called into work. No work till Wed. at least. And, I get to treat myself to a MRI. Isn't that just lovely? *sighs*

I can be an 'odd duck' when it comes to what sounds good for supper. (No link to Lizzie Borden intended). ;) I had a salad last night and have no desire for meat tonight.... unless it's polish sausage with mustard. YUM. Now that would go well with veggies and leftovers would fit nicely into a big pot of 15 bean soup for tomorrow night. Hmmm

Porkchops, biscuits and syrup...that's what our supper will be. I don't fry 'em anymore, but salt & pepper them & bake 'em in the oven.

Hope it all works out well for you, Wife of One.

Oooh 15 bean soup sounds good Diane. It's been forever since we've had that.

Tonight is fend for yourself night! There are some pizza pockets and some individual pizzas and soup and just little bits of this and that that need to be eaten. Since this is T's late night I don't have to cook and actual meal.

Today has ended up being a bit of a bust. I couldn't get the push mower to start. I still think it has something to do with the safety cable, cause it acted like it wanted to start but just wouldn't. So the yard work didn't happen. I may have to give it up and use the weedeater and suffer. Payday if this thing isn't fixed, it's getting replaced! I think I've probably gotten my $89 worth out of it in the last five years, considering it sits outside uncovered year round and this is the first time it hasn't cranked. I've used it a LOT!

Granny, pass me some of those bisquits and syrup(only if it's sorghrum syrup).

Kitty cat is so asleep in my lap that she nearly slid off!
