    Good morning all:

The papers are done and we are heading to the hospital. Dale is still in the Intensive Care Unit, but he sounded much better last night. They are allowing him to have some ice chips now.

    HAGD!

Drive Safe Sue and give Dale our best! I'm sure Brent will enjoy the visit with his half brothers today. That'll be good to get his mind off what all's transpired health wise recently!

Speaking of neighbors.... The house on one side is rented out and Nick plays with that boy when he's with mom. He splits time his parents. They have a dog that barks, but only if he sees someone that doesn't belong. If we go out into our fenced back yard and he's on his chain, I'll just holler 'Be quiet Snoopy' and he stops barking. The other side has 2 dogs and lots of cats. The dogs used to bark all the time but must have gotten used to us. Our property is shaped funny. The right side (facing the house) of my property is pie shaped. To put the fence on our property line, we'd have had to cut down a lot of nice trees. We started on the back property marker and went straight and then over to the house. Michael, who owns the dogs, fenced in HIS yard too but he really only wanted an area for his dogs to run so his fence is WAY inside his property line. We both own the big section between the two fences and agreed to let it stay wild and put our leaves and downed limbs there. It's got a lot of trees and it's hard to even see through there. [IMG] The 4 houses across from us have all had a number of owners in just the 5 years since they've been finished! We've been here 6 years and are the longest by far.

    Good Morning everyone [IMG]

Sue my prayers are with you and your family. And, I don't understand the spite of some neighbors, but I'm pulling for the plant.

It's warm already here and it's going to be going up and up. I'm going to make a go to the local discount grocery store to get something for supper.

Last night we turned off the TV. Well rather I did, and we spent a quiet night with no moniters TV or otherwise. It was nice.

I will see you all later

It's a humid 80° here already. We have on the little window unit we bought earlier in the week. It keeps this room bearable! PTL! (Central Air needs a condensor pump) It helps with Nick's bedroom too.

We're STILL under a flood watch from Hurricane Cindy and now here comes Dennis. I'm thankful we're up on a hill. [IMG]

We've lost power a number of times tonight already! I'm not going to reset the answering machine or clock on the microwave until the storm passes. LOL

The lightning strikes have stopped for now but boy is it pouring! I bet our members in Fla., Ala, and Miss. are getting pounded. [IMG]

So, I've been very good today. I had a boiled egg this morning and for supper had a very small serving of pasta, zucchini squash, red peppers with a few tiny pieces of grilled chicken. No snacks! Nick bought me a candy bar with his own money but I told him he had to eat it. I AM considering eating some popcorn tho.

Edited to add, I did eat a small bowl of popcorn.

We're watching McGee and Me since the satellite is out.

    Evening all:

Dale was finally moved out of Intensive Care and into Intermediate Care. He is still not allowed to eat or drink via mouth.

He showed off his incision. I didn't realize it would be that large. It goes from the very bottom of his abdomen to way up past his navel! With the staples, his belly looks like a large zipper!

I talked to his doctor while I was at the hospital today and he said Dale could possibly come home around the middle of next week, depending on his progress.

Brent is home from his visit and is taking a shower. He skinned up his knee pretty bad (not supposed to be running - but he was). Oh well, at least he didn't land on his broken arm!

I have inserts to put together for tomorrow morning's papers and then I'm going to bed. I napped in the recliner earlier this evening while the house was empty, but I'm still very tired.

    Pleasant dreams all!

Goodness Sue! That's great news about Dale and I'm SO glad Brent didn't hurt his arm or try to stop his fall with it! BOYS!

Get some rest and be safe tomorrow!

Well just as I got everything done that needed to be the first wind and clouds blew up. How's that for timing?

The grass is mowed, front and back, the screen gazebo taken down, the deck funiture moved and everything else outside moved into the garage. Even the dogs have been moved into the garage, though they can run in and out at their pleasure. Silly dogs like to play in the rain.

How is everyone handling church services tomorrow? I'm halfway expecting tomorrow night's service to be cancelled. Can't really see them cancelling the morning service. It isn't supposed to be bad till afternoon. The kids were supposed to be heading out to Crosspoint early Monday morning too. I have a feeling they'll be leaving late.

Sue, still praying for Dale. Glad to hear he's well enough to be out of intensive care.

Morning all, the rain and wind is supposed to be here by noon but looks like we won't get the hurricane itself but will be on the east side of it so probably lots of toranados, etc.

I had a bad night. I didn't fall asleep until about 12:30 and was awake by 2:30 and then again an hour or so later. I heard Nick's t.v. on at 2:30 so I'm guessing he woke up too. He's still snoring so not sure we'll make first service. Last week, we were a little late but made it, along with a big crowd of late arrivers.

TTYL... need to finish my cup of tea.

    Blessed Lord's day everyone!

Dennis so far has stayed to the south of us. It'll be here soon enough. In the meantime T is going to take the kids to a movie, so I'll have a bit of time to myself.

Right now I'm having a cup of coffee and trying to relax after a most unrelaxing morning of SS. The kids were wild and I was by myself! They were all off on vacation last week and had to make up for it today. I doubt they got anything at all out of our lesson. Chatterboxes all! Of course it didn't help that this mornings lesson was on singing, but the music provided was rather slow....just not the thing for overexcited younguns.

LOL! Cindi, my kids were wild in S/S and again, I (also alone) had to take in the 3 year old class. I changed our lesson. The 'People at Church make Music' lesson didn't sound like an attention keeper so I did Jesus calming the storm. We made storms out of black construction paper and I cut out boats. I gave the children glue sticks and confetti to make rain drops. Worked really well until the Youth Pastor's daughter decided to tell the other kids how confetti is really used. Talk about a mess! LOL

For almost 35 years I've been telling Jim when something breaks to whack it. Would he believe me? NO........ Today he went down to get the model numbers off the condesor pump and noticed it was full of water. He whacked it with his foot and it came on and started to drain! He came upstairs and turned on our Central Air. Works like a charm. Then he looked up the pump on the internet and it's NOT $185. like the repairman said but $52. BUT it includes an 'automatic shut off' for when the floater arm doesn't go down and the unit is full. I told him last year the drainage tube had been buried under red mud when we had a bad storm. 'Doesn't matter' says he. ;) So, now we have a window unit in the room built over hades and our C/A works!

I have work shirts to iron so will be on and off tonight. Don't want to lose electric and not have a starched shirt for Jim for tomorrow!

Yep, I've got T's clothes fixed for him already too. He's supposed to be at work by 7:30 in the morning. I'm sure he'll have a ton of fun driving. He'd wait til later and go in, but he has an already scheduled meeting with a consultant and no way of canceling or postponing. He doesn't even know if this person was able to fly in today.

I believe in giving things a good whack myself! T is always telling me things don't matter, then finding out days or months later that it really did matter. Men... [IMG]

Dennis is still pretty much a nonevent here at the moment. They keep saying that it is coming but except for rain you can't tell anything is going on. I really hope it stays that way. I'd really love for this to be gone by midday tomorrow and it start drying out so we can finish the backyard by the end of the week. I'm really really tired of waiting to get this work done. (whiney aren't I?)

So I says to the wife just yesterday, "Wife, blackbird hasn't been around for a week or so."

She says to me, "What in the name of Dutch is blackbird?"

So I says back to the wife, "Blackbird is...ummm...ummmm.

You know sometime trying to explain something to the Mrs is like trying to teach a pig to sing: it's a waste of time and it annoys the pig.

The woomen folk didn't notice the missing blackbird twice in a month. Poor, poor blackbird. The only question I have for you is, while I do not doubt the veracity of your friend's accomplishments, who told you that you grew up? Getting older don't count. [IMG]

From the track map I've been keeping (old habits die hard), I'd say you and I will get our strong winds and rain around midnight at the earliest.

Ty returns tomorrow at 5:45 so I'm hoping to get good sleep tonight. I did nap today but I have all the kids tomorrow. MacKenzie's mom wanted me to take her to the doctor for them at 11:00 but I would have to take 6 children! I suggested she bring me her other kids first but I can't do this for her. Can you see me with the baby, a 3, 4, two 7's and Nick in a rainstorm and hauling those kids up to the 3rd floor at the hospital PLUS taking them all in while some 'wicks' are removed from MacKenzie's ears? LOLOL NOT!

Padre! Blackbird always tells the other moderator's where he's going and when he'll return. That's why we don't 'miss him'. Hey, I've got a picture of him and Miriam so I can 'see' him anytime I want. LOLOL

    Evening all:

Dale is rather anxious tonight. He is having some trouble breathing and he is not diabetic, but his blood sugar dropped way down and they had to feed him 'raw' sugar via the IV. I'm praying he gets a good night's sleep.

To make matters worse, on the home front, we had two pieces of log and two railroad ties across the 'property line' of the 'bad' neighbor. I gave all of them to the man across the alley to burn at his 'fishing hole' (since the neighbor was raising such a stink). He took the logs and will take the ties tomorrow (they have been there since Cilco cut the tree down last fall and not one word has been said about them). The neighbor called the police and told them I had stolen his two logs so I had to deal with that!!!!

Is there no end to people's nonsense?!?

I can't do a thing until I can afford a surveyor and put up a privacy fence. Brent and I can do nothing as banged up as we are and Dale won't be able to do anything for quite a while either.

I guess I'll have a visit from the police every night now until I get every rock and pebble off of what the neighbor considers HIS property...

    Anyway, pleasant dreams all!

§ue (tired and fed up foolishness)

    Sorry about the vent. [IMG]

That's what we're here for Sue! I'm sorry to hear about all this! It's time for some peace.... You've been through so much lately. The devil just doesn't like your ministry with Brent, now does he?

Hope you can sleep well and that Dale is much better tomorrow.
