ktn4eg,
Many of you I'm sure have the Treasury of Scripture Knowedge. There is a also newer/bigger/bigger larger work titled The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge edited by Jerome H. Smith and published by Nelson.
Jerome Smith appears to be a follower of E.W. Bullinger and his treasury has references to Bullinger's Companion Bible and another one of his books titled Figures of Speech Used in the Bible. I own the treasury but don't have either of the works by Bullinger. The introduction of the New Treasury almost emplores you to get both of these works, while the treasury also references many other standard reference books but doesn't plug them in the same way. Some people complain about Jerome Smiths theology in the Treasury (there are notes all throughout the treasury) but I haven't read anything that I disagree with (but this is Smith, not Bullinger, I digress). The mention of Bullinger in the New Treasury has made me aware of Bullinger so I googled him and found a few things on-line about him, so you might try doing that.
E.W. Bullinger is also mentioned front and center in Charles Ryrie's landmark book Dispensationalism Today under Ultradispensationalism.
I haven't read anything from him, only about him but I tend to agree with those who urge caution. I would like to see a copy (to satisfy my couriosity) of the Champion Bible and or Figures of Speech used in the Bible, but only if I could get a copy at very low cost. The Champion Bible last time I checked was about $50.00, too much for me to spend on another study Bible and Figures of Speech is $20.00 +shipping at CBD for a paperback which is also too much for me to spend on something I have my doubts about.
