I am sure quit a few on here have heard a pastor say from the pulpit that everything we have done good and bad will be reveled to everyone there in heaven on judgement day. It is often used to get us to behave right so we will not be embarrased when that day comes for eveyone to see all that we said or did was bad.

But then the bible says that there will be no more tears or anything bad when we go to heaven, so when you think about it who really cares what is reveled if there will be no negative feelings regarding what anyone has done even yourself? Not even sure God will be upset.

    Does this make any sense?

Your objection makes sense. The folk religion you've heard from the pulpit doesn't.

They say were going to sit around in Heaven and watch old movies of other people's sins? And just how is that different from Hell?

I don't remember ever hearing that either. Although there are some mornings I don't remember my own name, until my first cup of coffee.

I think the opening post may be referring to the fact that in Luke 12:2-3, Jesus says
There is nothing conceled that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.

In 1 Corinthians 4:5, Paul writes,
Therefore, judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time, each will receive his praise from God.

Phillipians121, I think we will ALL be humbled, even those who are praised by God Himself. Embarrassed in front of others? I wouldn't worry about that. Each of us will be humbled himself or herself and not worried about others! The glorious thing is that we will know we are forgiven, and that we are loved by God. That is at least one reason there will be no more tears and sorrow!

Our standing is before God, not before each other. It is in front of God we will be embarrassed, not in front of each other. We won't be looking at each other.

This still behooves us to follow Christ as closely as we can here and now, listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our day to day lives, as He leads, instructs, disciplines.

    God bless you.

I remember hearing this in church as a child....

It was backed up by this Chick Tract.. "This is your life"

And is one reason I feel Chick and his tracts have misguided Christians with his shabby theology.

And apparently, Chick feels that he needs to develop "black tracts" Because here is one that is marketed toward African Americans....

Thank you Helen. I looked up some verses I thought might be why it has been preached. I just remember a few pastors saying this and making it sound like we should be ashamed because ever idle word, deed or thought will be revealed for all to see. Here is another verse.

But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned," (Matt. 12:36).

It is also said many times that people in a leadership posstion will be heald to an even "greater standard" than others at the time of judgement. So I am wondering what can possibly be so bad that can happen if we are already in heaven before a forgiving and loving God? And what greater punishment could leaders be getting?

Just not putting the punishment aspect together.

I remember all of that from when I was young but I understood that it's not heaven yet - but standing in judgement. I kind of see it as the huge foyer with 2 doors - heaven and hell and ALL - not just believers - will be judged there.

That's just from my thinking as a young kid. No Biblical support at all but how I understood it as a 7 year old. LOL!!

first, words come from what is in the heart, and God judges the heart. The expressions of the heart, then, will also be a matter for judgment.

However, there is an interesting bit in Matthew 5, in the
Sermon on the Mount, which I have NEVER heard mentioned in a sermon:

"Anyone who breaks on the the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commandments will be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
    v. 19

I think it may be quite humbling for some of those Christians who are leaders on earth to find they are counted 'least' in the kingdom. While they are believers, they are teaching a type of license that tries to negate the law. The point of what Christ and Paul tell us is that we are no longer to be judged by the law, for we have Christ, who indwells us by the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, inasmuch as we are being transformed by the Spirit into the likeness of Christ, and He obeyed the law perfectly (thus it was fulfilled in Him), we will not find ourselves at liberty to disobey God's law, but rather will find ourselves being conformed to it in our very natures.

Nevertheless, some of us are not as easy to raise as others of us -- just like in any family. So some get disciplined more because they tend to choose to continue to try for the 'pilot's seat' themselves rather than giving up their whole lives to Christ. They believe in Him, and trust Him, but often seem to believe in and trust themselves almost equally, and this will get them into trouble time and again -- spiritually if not physically.

Satan has only had to use ONE temptation to any of us here on earth. It comes in two parts: "Did God REALLY say........?" And, then, "Think for yourself......."

Even for Jesus: "If you are REALLY the Son of God......" Cast doubt on the reality of God and His Word; then twist the next part.

I'm seeing the same in so many areas of our lives. Question God's word and then rely on man's judgment.

When someone who is simply a quiet believer falls for that nonsense, it can usually be handled by God (sometimes through men, but not necessarily) fairly simply, quickly, easily. But when someone who is a leader fall for Satan's temptation to question the Word and then 'think for themselves' in opposition to it, the influence can be great and many, many people can be harmed. This is why Jesus told us that loving God and loving your neighbor are what all the prophets and law hang on. Doubting God's Word is not loving God, and spreading your own thoughts in place of His Word is definitely not loving your neighbor.

So, yes, we will get judged regarding what we say and do. Our salvation is by grace; but our position, if you will, after that point, is very much determined by what kind of obedient or disobedient children of His we are. And the warning your pastor gave you is simply that no disobedience is hidden in the long run.

But as for others pointing spiritual fingers at you, I doubt it! All of us will be too humbled to be pointing fingers at anyone else.
