HARTFORD -- 'Some state lawmakers are on a collision course with Connecticut Roman Catholics over the so-called "morning after pill."

The legislature's Public Health Committee is drafting a bill that would require all Connecticut hospitals, including the four Roman Catholic hospitals in the state, to provide emergency contraception to rape victims.'

I think NY and CA already requires that the RCC pay for contraceptives in their health insurance plan for employees; now, this outrage.

Maybe the RCC should withdraw health insurance, as a statement of principle, and close it's CT hospitals?

If you agree that contraceptives are bad or not, we should seriously care about this goverment intrusion and infringment on religous freedoms.

If the goverment is allowed to force a church to act against their beliefs because the goverment deems it to be in the publics best interest then we have lost all freedom given by the first amendment.

It is not hard to imagen what will be next. It will go like this, Baptist churches and Baptist pastors must allow homosexual couples get married in their churchs as to not descriminate.

If goverments are allowed to make the Catholic chruch act against their belief, the only reasonable thing for the Catholic church to do is close the doors to the hospital accept no new patents and when the last patent is discharged close all Catholic hospitals in the state.

I guess we'll find out if the RCC has the courage to act on their convictions.
