    Constitutional Islam

I noticed during a couple of thread that there seems to be a feeling that Islam (& especially islamic immigrants) should be afforded the protection of the Constitution of the USA.

I would think that this is the first era in American History that that statement could be even considered in this country.

So, I ask, first, "Why should we give muslim immigrants special status?"

Second, "Should we pass a constitutional amendment barring sharia law from taking over our American legal system?"

Every American citizen is afforded equal rights under the Constitution, Muslim or not.

Islam has as much protection as any under religion in the United Sates.

Muslims should have no special status, they should also not have an inferior status.

Muslim immigrants should be treated like any other immigrants. If there are quotas on their nation of origin than those quotas should apply. If we start establishing religious quotas there is no telling where it might end.

We don't need a constitutional amendment outlawing Sharia Law - it would already be illegal under current law.

Then we need to return to the Americanization or naturalization that we used to practice. I knew several immigrants in the 60's that were fantastically patriotic, and all were required to learn English. They eagerly embraced American values, discarding the negatives from the old world.

But we don't do that anymore. I don't believe these Muslims would integrate.

I firmly believe there should be instituted special laws concerning immigration by practitioners of Islam, a religion dedicated to ruling the world and who's immediate goals include the destruction of Israel and the US. To blindly accept them in under the idea that the constitution says so is to invite mayhem.

For obvious reasons, American citizens are not all that familiar with the INS. (I know, I know, they changed the name...forgive me, I can't remember the new one) Back in 2002-2003 we had to deal with the INS and that required a visit to the nearest field office as well as some phone calls.

Speaking English, I felt completely lost and confused in the process. I assure you, dealing with INS makes the Post Office or the DMV seem like a perfect example of customer service and effeciency.

We need a complete overhaul of our Immigration department before we will ever see any improvments in the immigration process.

At this stage of our democracy, once safe practices are no longer so. No founder foresaw the evilness of these radical Islamists and the seared consciences that allow the wholesale murder of infidels.

Our constitution protects them at this point with the added protections political correctness affords, such as searching my daughters and mother in airports as rag headed and sheet wearing men go right on through. We've never seen one of the Muslims checked out. We are being attacked from within.

    El Guero,

I think you may be misunderstanding some's views reagarding the freedom of religion enjoyed by US citizens with issues regarding immigration. Or perhaps, some of us are misunderstanding you. I don't think I have seen anyone on this board argue for the religious freedom within the US for someone who is not a legally residing in the US.

    Just my observation

Amen, hillclimber, amen. The link is no longer available, but according to this report, our current president refused after 09/11 to deport muslim ILLEGAL aliens. Another report said it was 140,000 ILLEGAL muslims. I saved this report in my notes in case the link would go dead.

Wow - at least you have the honesty and integrity to admit that you do not believe in freedom of religion.

I admire you for your honesty.

Who knows how long it will be before Christian missionaries will be refused admittance to the US under the same legal precedent?

As soon as the world considers evangelical Christianity to be anti-peace, discriminatory, or radical, we'll see it.

And that's not too far off.

I wish people would wake up and realize this is not just another "religion."

I wish folks could realise that we may not see it as just another religion, the Constitution does and that if we start discriminating against one religion we open the door for discrimination against any and all religions, including Evangelical Christians.

Did you notice how few Evangelical Christians are in Congress? We are not in a strong position to start having them pass laws putting down religions.

I wholeheartly agree with you Roger. People need to wake up and realize that if they start to limit freedoms of things they don't like, then it will only be a matter of time before our freedoms are limited.

Each and every day we loose freedoms, and it will get to a point where we can't hold service on Sunday at our church, and only then will people wake up and go... What Happened?!?

Instead of fighting muslims and other non-Christians, why not pray, and spread the word and trust in God to protect us and guide us and let his Will be done.

People need to trust in the Lord more.

When we fear attack more than we fear a loss of freedoms, we will have ceased to be Americans and have become sheep.

"Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains or slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God!

 Thank you! The muslim hate I see on this board is is really discouraging. We don't have to agree with their religion, but how can we call ourselves Christians if we so fervently wish to deprive people of the same rights we enjoy and cherish? I've heard all the arguments. "They want to take over our country and invoke Sharia law". "All muslims want is to kill Chrisitans". "All terrorist are muslim". "Christians in muslim countries are not free to practice their religion". So what, even if this is all true, and a lot of it I feel is overreaction and fear, shouldn't we strive to show God's love through our actions? Don't we have enough faith in God? Don't you believe God will see us through? How can we ever expect to be a light unto the world when we so filled with hate and fear? Instead of an "eye for an eye" mentality why can't we set an example about what Christianity really means like the good Samaritan. The fact remains that no matter how much you hate muslims, GOD still loves them. Does that mean beat them over the head with the word of God? No, but at least show them respect and kindness. How can you ever hope to reach them if you only spew hate, disdain, and mistrust towards them?

I haven't seen anyone here say they hate muslims. I do hate their religion because the father of their religion is satan.

I haven't seen anyone here say they are filled with hate and fear of islam. In fact, it could be argued that those who don't want to stand up for our freedoms and our country as we have known it and NOT taking a stand against an enemy that seeks to infiltrate us, destroy our laws and our nation, are themselves worried about political correctness and PC because of fear of muslims. That fear of what muslims might or might not do and loss of oil for our cars could be one very important factor that drives our foreign policies.

There are too many Neville Chamberlains in the world, IMO. Appeasement never works. The Christ-like thing to do is to continue to support ministries that are reaching the muslims in other lands like the Jesus Film Project and SAT-7 TV.

To not stand up and warn against evil is not Christ like. Jesus was not politically correct. He even called people vipers when it was appropriate. Millions of Christians - our brothers and sisters in Christ - have been persecuted, tortured, butchered in the name of islam - and it continues to this day. Yet those facts are conveniently ignored as if they don't exist while we try to appease an enemy that is vowed to do the same to us when given the opportunity. Even if only 10% want to do us in, that is still 1.2 million people who want to kill us and some of those 1.2 million may be your next door neighbor or mine. Ex-Muslims who have turned to Jesus Christ are risking their own lives to warn us while we sleep like the proverbial frog in the cold water cooking pot.

I guess it comes down to world view. Liberal versus conservative. Again.

PS: I do believe believers will be raptured before the final takeover of the US. But the carnage may start before then with homicide bombers, etc., just like in Israel.

I don't consider it PC to allow American citizens their constitutional rights, or even those who are not citizens but are on American soil. If that is liberal, so be it. It is fear that drives people to deny others their rights. If that is liberal so be it. I stand up for freedom. I stand up for freedom for ALL, and that includes Muslims. I have absolutely no fear about what muslims might/might not do, and I have absolutely no problem with befriending them or allowing to practice their religion even if it is right next door. The people who are worried about what muslims might/might not do are the ones that want to deny them their rights and prevent them from entering the country. That IS fear.

Others would say that appeasement is fear.
