Does the seemingly overly hyped news on the Coronavirus cause you any loss of sleep or nominal concern?

Would love your views, especially if this virus deserves all the front page, leading Six O'clock news hype it has been getting as of late???

I was recently reading a scary story on line that the Coronavirus just could be that Revelation like disease that may wipe out a third of our world's population. Personally, I believe it is fodder for the news shows and nothing more or nothing less. This isn't the first virus in my lifetime to receive this much banter; and I believe it will not be the last. DO YOU AGREE WITH ME???

I'm still in wait and see on this one. Assuming they fail to contain it, its 2% fatality rate, that is 2% of infected people die (mainly the elderly and already sick) could make it as bad as the Spanish flu of many years ago. I am concerned but not too much, I have God as my protector after all. I feel the news is hyping it though, even in a busy news environment what with war brewing between Turkey (a NATO member) and Russia again.

I have a few friends who are fighting cancer. They already have weakened immune systems. A virus like covid17 would potentially be deadly.
However, I believe our times are in God's hands. He will do what He deems best.

Yes, the 1918-1919 pandemic is just outside of our living memory, but back about 15 years ago, I walked with my father through an old family cemetery in the Piney Woods of East Texas. My father had just learned his cancer was terminal and wanted me to see where my ancestors were buried and tell some oral family history that I could pass on. While we walked among the headstones, I noticed quite a few deaths in late 1918, often within days of each other, within the same families. I asked if that was the 1918-1919 pandemic, and my father told me of how it even reached that little community hidden deep in the pines. Mostly young people and children died, leaving a number of orphans and single-parent families in the community. It was eye-opening to see how the virus harmed so many people.
