Would you consider it amoral, moral or immoral for your employer to take out life insurance on you and name themselves, the corporation, as the beneficiary?

Possibly not. If the company has spent a large amout of money to train you- they have a right to protect their investment.

    Salty, thanks for the reply.

The following question came to mind after I posted the OP. Should a church take out a life insurance policy on its pastor and staff members, if they have any, and name the church as the beneficiary?

You are on record as saying morality is subjective. If that is truly your stance then this is a stupid question, and we would be idiots to try and discuss this with you.

My understanding is that you can only take out a policy on a person that you have an insurable interest in.

Other than money spent to acquire and move a pastor to your location - I'm not sure what insurable interest a church may have in a pastor.

    Open for discussion.....

How appalling.....surely ones family should be the beneficiary. I know that the oil company has some sort of pension scheme for the partner of an employee who dies whilst an employee....it may not be across the board, and it maybe something the employee buys into.

Personally, I think that such a scheme implies owning you body and all which is a bit creepy ......

Sounds creepy to me. I'd be forever wondering if they planned to kill me off to get the money. . .
