Having watched her movie when I was far too young, read her books as a student and visited her home as a graduate, I just recently discovered that quite a number of Corrie Ten Boom's own sermons are on Youtube. I have been listening to one every day and have been truly blessed and challenged.
At the same time, I can't help being struck by how she has remained remarkably free from controversy or criticism. Though I believe she preached an orthodox gospel, I notice several things about her teaching now that wouldn't pass the Conservative sniff test in today's culture of critical dissection of preachers and their sermons on Youtube and social media. Do cessationists dismiss her extraordinary experiences? Is her identity as a female preacher problematic? Is her odd choice of Bible translation (Phillips) excusable because English was not her mother tongue? Perhaps some special people like her are just able to transcend all these controversies!
I'm curious: What's the general consensus about her in these BB parts?
