Covenant marriage

The reason the divorce rate in the south is so high is that in our areas girls are marrying at VERY young ages and since their mothers married young and divorced, they also do.

Our county had the highest teen pregnancy rate in the U.S. a few years ago. Georgia ranks up there as a whole too. I don't know if this has changed or not. In 2000, the number of reported teen pregnancies in Georgia was 27,370.

Our legislature is working on a law to make it much harder to divorce in Georgia with a 6 month waiting period and a stipulation that if the divorce is caused by adultery, the offending partner loses all rights to joint property, bank accounts, etc.

BTW... there are many, like Jim and myself, who have been married almost 35 years. It's quite common in our church.
