For the most part, I liked and agreed with what the President had to say. This passage, however, was out of line and shows bad judgement on his part:

Who said immigrants were bad for the economy? I don't know many people, except for fringe looney racists who say that. ILLEGAL ALIENS , however, are bad for the economy and for our national security. Bush needs to wake up to this reality and stop playing politics with the Hispanic vote.

I agree. More of a national security issue, than an economic one.

If you are ready for the adventure of a lifetime, TRY THIS:

Enter Mexico illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.

Once there, demand that ! the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.

    Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.

Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc. Procreate abundantly.

Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behavior with, "It is a cultural U.S.A.thing. You would not understand, pal."

Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.

Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do likewise.
Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.
Demand a local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico

Drive around with no liability insurance and ignore local traffic laws.

Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.

Good luck! You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon be dead. Because it will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in the world except right here in the United States, Land of the naive, stupid, and idiotic politically correct politicians.

    From CNN. March 25, 2005
Lisa Sylvester: March's widow met with President Bush in 2003 at a memorial service honoring slain officers. In a follow-up letter she wrote:
"You said, 'we're going to get this guy.' You looked in my eye and I believed you."
That was fifteen months ago and still Deputy March's killer remains free. The suspect Armando Garcia was deported twice before the shooting, each time he returned to the United States. Lou.
Lou Dobbs: It is extraordinary that so little is being done to change laws, priority and border security.

Joseph quoted President Bush: " We hear claims that immigrants are somehow bad for the economy - even though this economy could not function without them."

Well, President Bush, the next time we have a recession(which may not be all that far off) and illegal aliens have jobs and American citizens don't we'll see how the American people regard soft policies such as yours towards illegal aliens.

I know I'm right Rocko9. I've read the CFR's "Building A North American Community". So has Phyllis Schlafly.

    by Phyllis Schlafly
    July 13, 2005

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) has just let the cat out of the bag about what's really behind our trade agreements and security partnerships with the other North American countries. A 59-page CFR document spells out a five-year plan for the "establishment by 2010 of a North American economic and security community" with a common "outer security perimeter."

"Community" means integrating the United States with the corruption, socialism, poverty and population of Mexico and Canada. "Common perimeter" means wide-open U.S. borders between the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

"Community" is sometimes called "space" but the CFR goal is clear: "a common economic space ... for all people in the region, a space in which trade, capital, and people flow freely." The CFR's "integrated" strategy calls for "a more open border for the movement of goods and people."

The CFR document lays "the groundwork for the freer flow of people within North America." The "common security perimeter" will require us to "harmonize visa and asylum regulations" with Mexico and Canada, "harmonize entry screening," and "fully share data about the exit and entry of foreign nationals."

This CFR document, called "Building a North American Community," asserts that George W. Bush, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin "committed their governments" to this goal when they met at Bush's ranch and at Waco, Texas on March 23, 2005. The three adopted the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" and assigned "working groups" to fill in the details.

It was at this same meeting, grandly called the North American summit, that President Bush pinned the epithet "vigilantes" on the volunteers guarding our border in Arizona.

    SOURCE

Then I hear, no Poncho you're crazy the CFR never wrote anything like that president Bush is a great American he's just playing the hispanic vote.

Let me spell it out for those that have a hard time reading whats right in front of their eyes in black and white.

    G-e-o-r-g-e B-u-s-h i-s a g-l-o-b-a-l-i-s-t p-u-p-p-e-t! He isn't playing with the hispanic vote, he's helping to build a n-o-r-t-h a-m-e-r-i-c-a-n c-o-m-m-u-n-i-t-y!!!
