    My wife and I take most of our vacations on cruises. The rest and the lack of phones are the big draws.

    Anyone else enjoy cruising?
    What line?
    A favorite ship?
    Best destination?

    I've never been on a cruise, but my hubby and I are considering one for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, coming up next May.

    What do you recommend? :cool:

    My wife and I love royal caribbean. They go to some nice places with a variety of events happening on the ship.
    We like them because they are a romantic get away. We spend alot of time together all apart from the constant demands of a busy church.
    We don't drink, we don't gamble so alot of the extra expenses that might go with a cruise are not there. Your fare pays for room, food and most on board activities. So it's not a budget breaker.

    I have never been on a cruise and would really love to go on one.

    I have heard that the Alaskian Cruises are fantastic.

    I love to cruise. We did one last summer to Cozumel and this summer we are going to the Bahamas. I've just started this new way of traveling in the past year but I love it! We've only taken Carnival so far....

    My wife and I are taking a short bahama's cruise in may for our first break since last october. Then we're going on a week long cruise to St Martin and St Johns after the hurricane season winds down.

    I have heard the Alaska cruises are amazing also. Saw a program on it on the travel channel last week. We've already started saving.

    Maybe we should get a BB cruise trip planned. [​IMG]

    Alaska sounds awesome. I'd want to do that in the warmer season. I'm sure they only have certain travel dates to Alaska. Right now I just savor my time in the summer...and the cruise. I'm a teacher and I'm limited as to when I can take a cruise. But, for the $$...they are a great value. [​IMG]

    mmm.. cruise ships...

    i might be goin on a cruse ship in the fall... being an on-board electronics technician...

    haha. that's if i get my diploma... which i wont... cause i have to take english over again...

    bummer...

    My wife and I just spent four days on a Carnival cruise to the Caribbean. All in all, we did not have the greatest time. It was neat to go on a cruise and nice to say we've "been there and done that," but we'd much rather lie on the beach at a resort.

    I'm headed on a Bahamas cruise in a few days.

    We're sailing on the Carnival Celebration out of Jacksonville. Four days total, stopping in Freeport and Nasaua (sp?).

    It's going to be my wife and I, our 18 year old daughter, and my parents. But not in one cabin. We've got two, and our daughter will be bunking in their's a night or two.

    Have a great time. Never been to Bermuda but heard it is beautiful
    Nassau is over-rarted. Word of warning: Don't let your wife or children alone in the straw market... and keep practicing the word "No!" :)

    I LOVE crusing!:love2:

    Since our first cruise on our honeymoon in '01, my wife and I are hooked. We've only been on Royal Carribean (Voyager) twice, but both times were a blast. From the experiences on RC, I don't think I would ever do another cruise line, they are first class (especially the food!) Both were western cruises...Labadee...Cozumel...Grand Cayman...Ocho Rios...Bahamas (we missed this port due to weather). First time we left from Miami, and last year we left from New Jersey (9 nights). I'm thinking of booking one this fall for my wife's 30th birthday. I can't wait to go on the new Freedom of the Seas! I even heard in '08 an even bigger ship will be unveiled called "Project Genesis"!

    I tell my wife I'm going to put my request in to the Lord to be a cruise director on New Earth:laugh:

    We had a great time.

    We got a wonderful tour guide in Nassau named John. He's been doing it for 27 years, and is a terrific guy and a Christian (Baptist, even).

    The straw market has changed, according to my mom. She said that it was a lot calmer, not much haggling and competing like it used to be. I skipped that part and took my dad on back to the ship.

    I was worried about going on a vacation with my folks, but it went well. Dad's knees and lungs slowed us down a bit, but it was good to spend time together.

    glad to hear it. Spending time with family and friends is one of the reasons I enjoy cruising. I spend a week with my wife this Oct and then we have a church cruise planned for January. :thumbs:
