Daddies. . .

Well, let's see, that's a bit complicated so I'll break it down as best I can.

I have two step kids and they are currently at their dad's for the summer. However, when they are here, if I'm not at work, I am with them. Either direct or indirect interaction.

I also have a baby at home. When I'm not at work or he's not sleeping, I'd say I'm with him almost 99% of the time. (What can I say, he's a Daddy's boy. Drives my wife crazy. )

Although I have to admit, they can drive me crazy. I give you women a lot of respect for dealing with the kids all the time. Words cannot express the appreciation I have more my wife.

As much as I can saggy.

I have usually have at least one weekday off per week, and sometimes two if I have to work Sunday. My wife works M - F (lets not debate that here) so I am with the kids 1 - 2 times a week all day.

I also work evenings at least 2 times per week so I am with them till noon twice a week. The oldest will be going back to school so I will miss the mornings with him soon.

Then on the days I work a normal 7 - 5 day I have a couple hours with the baby and about another hour or so with the older one.

What it comes down to is that I spend as much time as possible with the kids. Today the boy and I went to the waterpark. We had alot of fun. Boy did he tire me out, but its a good tired.

 

I stay at home with our son, so I'm not sure I could add it up. My wife gets home from work between 7:30 and 8:30 at night; so I'm with him exclusively from when he gets up (~9:00 am - he's on a later schedule to get some time in with Mom) to when she gets home. That's 55 hours during the week, plus a considerable chunk of the weekend.

I recently became the coordinator for a local clergy association, so now he goes with me to have lunch with colleagues; but we're still together during that time and he really enjoys meeting new people (and practicing his chips and salsa dipping).
