We throw around "the Day of the Lord" without specifying exactly what we mean.

End times theology has us arriving at the end of the present age of grace.

How will it begin, with the rapture or with the Great Tribulation or some other scheme constructed by scholars?

Does the second coming mean Christ coming in the clouds and gathering His church in bodily form or does it mean setting foot on the Mount of Olives to initiate the end times wrath?

Joel 2:11, ". . . And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it? . . ."

Joel 2:31, ". . . The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. . . ."

    After the tribulation,
    Matthew 24:29-30.
    And,
    Revelation 6:12-17.
