What "decade in history" BEFORE the time of Christ would YOU loved to have dropped in and lived (then bailed back to 2004!)?

55-45 BCE - Roman Triumvirate with Julius Caesar, Pompey, Crassus along with bit players like Cleopatra Ptolemy and Mark Antony. Rise of Antipater II and son Herod.

Thought provoking as usual Dr Bob.

The period of Ramses the Great as an Egyptian, but not at the bottom of the pile!!!

In the Indian kingdom where Prince Siddartha was born and during his life time. Again not at the bottom of the pile. Circa 560 BC

It's never fun at the bottom of the pile.

There isn't any decade before modern times that I'd like to live in. Modern waste management and modern medicine are not to be despised.

However, if I were to be a fly on the wall, a fly that understood the language, I'd be in the Garden of Eden around the time of the Fall.

I would have like to see Jonah come out of the water. But I think I would have wanted to see the tongues confused, at the Tower of Babel, even more. That would have been funny.

I can tell you when I wouldn't want to live. I wouldn't want to live anytime near the life of Noah, unless I was one of those two lucky giraffs. I wouldn't want to be in Eygypt when Moses showed up. And I certainly wouldn't want to be in caneen during that time. I think I would have liked to see Athens in its prime, perfebly when they were sitting around thinking of philosphy and not fighting the spartans or teaming up with the spartans to fight everyone else.

I should like to be a contemporary of King David!

Of course I would not want to be Uriah the Hitite!

I would have loved to sit and observe Solomon during the early portion of his reign.

The single week I'd like to visit would be the opening of the temple, esp. the day where the ark of God was placed into the holy of holies.

I think to have been able to watch Elijah taunt the the prophets of baal in 1 Kings 18:27 would have been a spectacle...not to mention the fire of God come down from the sky.

The Crucifixion and the week afterward. Can you imagine the joy and wonder among His people when they realized that He had truly beaten death for all time, and He had cleansed them by His sacrifice?

Unique in the history of the world.
