Hi Bill. For the first time this year I am falling behind in my comments though I am keeping up with my reading. I plan on making time tomorrow to bring the forum up to date. One note I will address from your question today on Job 26:13 concerning the serpent.

The "gliding serpent" (or "crooked serpent" if you are using KJV or similar text) may be in reference to the Leviathan spoken of in various passages of this Book and the in Isaiah 27:1. The Leviathan is a sea monster of which you can find a more descriptive text in chapter 41 of Job.

Matthew Henry suggest that the "gliding serpent" may have also been an ancient constellation.

The serpent is used often in Scripture to show satan but this is not always the case. Consider the brass serpent of Moses in Numbers 21:8-9 or the fact that Moses' staff was turned into a serpent. The account of Job, however, is textually and chronologically oldr than these accounts.
