To avoid having to account for his administration's misleading statements before the war with Iraq, President Bush has tried denial, saying he did not skew the intelligence. He's tried to share the blame, claiming that Congress had the same intelligence he had, as well as President Bill Clinton. He's tried to pass the buck and blame the C.I.A. Lately, he's gone on the attack, accusing Democrats in Congress of aiding the terrorists.

Yesterday in Alaska, Mr. Bush trotted out the same tedious deflection on Iraq that he usually attempts when his back is against the wall: he claims that questioning his actions three years ago is a betrayal of the troops in battle today.

It all amounts to one energetic effort at avoidance. But like the W.M.D. reports that started the whole thing, the only problem is that none of it has been true.

This is an editorial piece, not a news item. The dems and their media cohorts continue to try to re-write history.

... so what exactly would you have Bush say or to have done?

Would you have him say, "Every legitimate intelligence agency in the world told us that Saddam was a continuing threat to the region and our interests... but I was wrong for believing them?"

Further, the lack of reasoning behind statements like yours is astonishing.

Given the information that everyone interpretted to mean that Saddam was a serious threat... would it have been responsible for Bush to have waited?

Let me paint you an alternative scenario:

Bush does not pull the trigger so the allies miss their spring invasion window giving Saddam 6-8 months to prepare while our coaltion wilts in the desert heat.

Saddam of course had already started kicking the inspectors out and resisting their efforts. As far as we know, the tape played by Colin Powell that details the intentional hiding of materials was not a forgery. When the public announcement came that we had missed the window for invading, Saddam could have quickly reconstituted his chemical weapons program and prepositioned those weapons.

He might could have produced his own dirty nuke within a year... analysts disagree. However, he could have purchased a nuke or nuke technologies from N Korea.

Oh yeah... remember this is a guy who had as a stated goal to support and sponsor terrorism directly against the US.

So what would our world look like? A stalemate with Saddam or else a war with horrible US casualties from chem/bio weapons and possibly even nukes. You would have emboldened terrorists and a state with WMD capabilities/technology operating as a terrorism sponsor.

Bush did the right thing. His enemies are simply opportunistic. The same people would be condemning him if he hadn't have acted. In fact, those who opposed action would probably now be washing their hands by saying that their positions were made without "knowing all the intelligence Bush had".

What you and the Dems are doing is unthoughtful a least and dishonest at worst.

House and Senate democrats are in serious denial mode.

They seek to alter history so they won't be held responsible by their liberal base for voting to go to war. Elections are coming.

The deomcrats and republicans are both being dishonest and have been for years. Bush doesn't run this country anymore than Clinton did.

It's the globalcrats that are lying people!

That's why it was posted in the politics forum. That and I always get a big laugh that you guys will jump on any chance to blame the other side, even though both sides are controlled by the same globalcrats. [IMG]

Thanks, I needed that laugh! [IMG]

Nice picture. Comes from a site so offensive I'm suprised you have the nerve to put it up here. But given the language I've seen you use at the Huffington Post, perhaps I shouldn't be....

Perhaps I shouldn't have added that last part, but you should be more careful where you get your images.

    Brother Curtis did your
reflexion helmet get shorted out on you shiny
    burnt up head.

As for the Huffington Post it has grown and allows for conservative and moderate postings so
it sounds as if you are belly aching again trying
to hijack a thread and make it about the poster
"The poster is the issue" type of diversion from
    the real debate..."Bush Denials"

Could you please for once actually address the issue ..the posted thread...actually write a
paragraph commenting on the "ISSUE OF THE THREAD"

As for the pic it comes from a long line of Google pics ...I picked the one that was not the
largest without looking at the site...how..hit
the Google pic...then hit the Google pic again it
is then downloaded to a lone page that has the pic...so if you want to make a mountain out of a mole hill fine.

If its such a big deal and offends you report it
to the mods and they will remove it...other than that quit you bellyaching.

One thing about the anti-globalists right wing is that they are consistent in their attacks on Bush and the GOP. I think that is what is so offensive about them. I wish the non-globalists would say something about US Senator Frank Church, or do they ever look at the people whose shoes they shine?

Frankly, I don't know anyone who says he is a globalist, but then I only know everyday Americans here in the heartland of the USA, the Middle West. The right-wing has been going at it for over 50 years now and so far they only thing that they have proven is that the like being super-rich and they wish the rest of us riff raff would let them rule the world because they alone are the repository of good and of knowing what is best for everyone else. I think that the right wing's main Scripture verse is:

    Let them eat cake!

I just think a true Christian, especially one who throws around the repentance word as much as you do, shouldn't use the language you use there.

Allready addressed it. See the cartoon ? Lying is something else a Christian shouldn't wink at.

Did you see the site ? Or do you listen to that band ? I still can't believe a Christian would introduce a site like that here.

I know, A-Pal. It's OK for you to swear, make fun of bald people, and link to disgusting sites.
