In the 1970'f the democrats led by Frank Church of Idaho essentially destroyed the foreign intelligence capability of the United States. Now the democrats led by Feinstein and Obama are going to do it one more time, a parting shot at President Bush and the Republicans. Goes to show what low lifes the democrat politicians are!

Sure is no one will be held accountable.

Gotta make Bush look bad so his "sister in law" Hillary will look better in 2016.

    Hehehehehe

So, transparency in government is good unless it threatens republicans?

This was one of the reasons a generation later we never knew about a bunch of Islamic extremists in a cave in Afghanistan plotting to take down the Twin Towers.

On Aug. 6, 2001, President George W. Bush received a classified review of the threats posed by Osama bin Laden and his terrorist network, Al Qaeda. That morning’s “presidential daily brief” — the top-secret document prepared by America’s intelligence agencies — featured the now-infamous heading: “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” A few weeks later, on 9/11, Al Qaeda accomplished that goal.

On April 10, 2004, the Bush White House declassified that daily brief — and only that daily brief — in response to pressure from the 9/11 Commission, which was investigating the events leading to the attack. Administration officials dismissed the document’s significance, saying that, despite the jaw-dropping headline, it was only an assessment of Al Qaeda’s history, not a warning of the impending attack. While some critics considered that claim absurd, a close reading of the brief showed that the argument had some validity.

That is, unless it was read in conjunction with the daily briefs preceding Aug. 6, the ones the Bush administration would not release. While those documents are still not public, I have read excerpts from many of them, along with other recently declassified records, and come to an inescapable conclusion: the administration’s reaction to what Mr. Bush was told in the weeks before that infamous briefing reflected significantly more negligence than has been disclosed. In other words, the Aug. 6 document, for all of the controversy it provoked, is not nearly as shocking as the briefs that came before it.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/11/opinion/the-bush-white-house-was-deaf-to-9-11-warnings.html?_r=0

In other words this (This was one of the reasons a generation later we never knew about a bunch of Islamic extremists in a cave in Afghanistan plotting to take down the Twin Towers.) is not true. It's just more hype and fear mongering.

The government had plenty of warning.

I doubt that since Sen. Frank Church had destroyed the human intelligence capability of the CIA a few years earlier!

I hope that when Americans are killed because of the democrats desire to dump on President Bush one more time they get a warm glow.

As far as I am concerned every democrat that advocated release of that report is a treasonous piece of camel dung! And if some politically correct member wants to accuse me of bigotry then have at it!

    *******************************************
And the word is treason preacher. Now I expect you are too nice a person to refer to them as camel dung and I understand and appreciate you for it!

Sometimes when I'm wondering what it would be like to despise, distrust and loathe someone so much I couldn't see see or hear anything else going on . . .

I sign in to Baptist Board and read the threads posted in politics.

I take it you're still upset with me for pointing out how your fears of "Russian aggression" are based on unfounded government PR and fear mongering rather actual facts and evidence.

Just to prove that Russian aggression is a fact I went to the Ukraine. I am laying dead over in a Ukrainian field, unburied, kilt by a Russian aggressor! If you don't believe me take a little trip!

Okay if you say so. I offer my condolences to your remaining family members but I couldn't help notice that once again you failed to offer any evidence of this "Russian aggression".

Smart alecky remarks and quirky stories are all fine and dandy and maybe even have some comic value to some people but they still don't prove what you're claiming to be true.

The above statement is characteristic of most of your conspiracy theories!

The above statement is becoming characteristic of most of your dodges lately.

In case you the reader missed it. OR has been theorizing that the Russians are conspiring to "take over the world". I asked him if he could provide evidence to support his theory of a Russian conspiracy. He is still evading the question.

Appreciate it but an apology isn't necessary.

I do find your conspiracy theory to be rather interesting. Do you have any facts and evidence to support it or is hype, anger, paranoia and fear mongering all there is to it? :)

    More deflection . . . interesting.

So the answer I take it then is no you do not have any facts or evidence to support your theory that the Russians are conspiring to take over the world otherwise known as the theory of "Russian aggression".
