Why not? I do believe God can use ANYTHING to accomplish His will. It is not so much HOW the Bible says something was done, as it is THAT it was done. The fact that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed at the exact time that the destruction was predicted is more of a miracle than ANY guess about HOW it happened!

BTW, the referenced article says the asteroid likely landed in the Alps. Two questions:

    1. Why refer to this asteroid as having destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and also say it probably landed in the Alps, VERY far from the first-mentioned Sodom and Gomorrah? Is the writer of the article trying to disprove the Biblical record? Or is the author saying that the asteroid hit the earth TWICE?

    2. Is there any further evidence that this asteroid DID land in the Alps? By this I mean, is there a location in the Alps where an asteroid is suspected of landing/crashing at about the calculated time?

Those were the two questions that came to my mind as I was reading it yesterday...

I also agree that it could have been an Asteroid.. it would certainly looked like fire and brimestone...
When I was growing up, I thought it described a volcano...

But whatever it was, God was behind it.
