Let's assume for the purposes of this poll that the Lottery is a hallowed resource.

Did Jack Whittaker forfeit his reward?

I think they did a kind and generous thing by setting this example.

I didn't vote because there is no way of knowing.
The key phrase in the passage is "to be seen by men."
If that's why he did it then he has no reward for what he has done.
If his motive was obedience, then he is in good with God on the matter.
However, Jesus says that we should do this in secret, I suppose due to our human weaknesses.
I don't believe he should have announced it on the national news. This certainly makes the motive suspect.
But since we cannot know the man's heart, this is fruitless speculation and none of our concern.

Realize of course that there is absolutely no way to tithe of 100 plus million dollars without everyone in the church, or three churches, knowing where it came from.

It is not for me to judge the heart of the man, but for me it was a blessing to see someone honoring God on national television. I do know that the man is already wealthy, and that they have been through many trials with health issues. His response to the win has preached a pretty powerful sermon.

Thank you for resonding. I am of the opinion that he did forfeit the honor God could have bestowed.

That being said, it is obvious that it is his custom to tithe. Otherwise I don't think he would have tithed these winnings. And, I am not Judging Mr. Whittaker. The was a public event. We should be in the habit of evaluating public events in the light of Scripture.

Should we also consider the fact that all rhose reporters were probably asking "What are you going to do with the money?"
In that situation, I believe any one of us would have mentioned giving to the churches (or pastors) as well.
