Did Political Correctness Play a Pert in the Fort Hood Slaughter

Troubling portrait emerges of Fort Hood suspect

By BRETT J. BLACKLEDGE, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – His name appears on radical Internet postings. A fellow officer says he fought his deployment to Iraq and argued with soldiers who supported U.S. wars. He required counseling as a medical student because of problems with patients.

There are many unknowns about Nidal Malik Hasan, the man authorities say is responsible for the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base. Most of all, his motive. But details of his life and mindset, emerging from official sources and personal acquaintances, are troubling.

For six years before reporting for duty at Fort Hood, Texas, in July, the 39-year-old Army major worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center pursuing his career in psychiatry, as an intern, a resident and, last year, a fellow in disaster and preventive psychiatry. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001.
While an intern at Walter Reed, Hasan had some "difficulties" that required counseling and extra supervision, said Dr. Thomas Grieger, who was the training director at the time.

Grieger said privacy laws prevented him from going into details but noted that the problems had to do with Hasan's interactions with patients. He recalled Hasan as a "mostly very quiet" person who never spoke ill of the military or his country.
"He swore an oath of loyalty to the military," Grieger said. "I didn't hear anything contrary to those oaths."

But, more recently, federal agents grew suspicious.

At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades.

If this press report is true (and they're not always true), then it's not a case of political correctness, but someone dropping the ball. This guy should have been booted out of the the Army and under investigation long ago.

Someone didn't do their job!

The news reported he had a poor OER (Officers Efficiency Rating). At that level, if you are not in the top 95%, you can probably expect to get Riff'ed (Reduction in force) or otherwise separated from the service -
And then to be promoted to Major!

I suspect he was promoted under provisions of Equal opportunity in spite of his low OER.

Political correctness? How so?

It is not politically correct to say we are at war with Islamic Terrorists.

Which includes all devout Muslims. A devout Muslim sees the west as Satan, and is instructed to KILL us infidels...

That is an act of war.. .Islam teaches it's followers to Kill the west!

Simply because our Commander in Chief doesn't want to offend poor Muslims.

This Major was obviously making statements that were inappropriate and had been making them for some months. If a Christian had made those statements about Islam they would have been severely disciplined. This man was not. Furthermore no one with an unsatisfactory record would have been promoted to Major. If reports are true he was unstable and should have never been trained at taxpayers expense to become a psychiatrist.

People in the government are afraid to say anything negative about Islam. The War on Terror is no longer the War on Terror.

Of course. That's why Obama is preaching not to jump to conclusions. He's fearful that the facts, when they are all available, will tell us all that PC killed 13 people.

PC says that when we see an enemy, we have to act like we don't.

Pc even got this islamofascist screw up promoted.

Now, 13 people are dead, and we're not supposed to talk about why. That's PC at it's most pernicious best.

Did Obama admit to being a muslim?

Watch;
http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=tCAffMSWSzY#t=28

or go to www.pastorbutch.com and scroll down to Headline News, about half the page down and click on link 'Obama Admits He's a Muslim".

Bush de-emphasized the role of the muslim religion in the 911 terrorism, and Obama is insuring the continuing cover over mass media 'that islam is a religion of peace'. Yeah! Really! Bite me! Obama, a great liar!

Now we have a hate crimes law which can cancell my opinion, freedom of expression and prosecute me for saying what I sincerely believe but give protection to the speech and killings by those who blame their actions on their religion!

There never was a so-called "war on terror" since one cannot fight a war against a tactic. Now we do have a war with al Qaeda and its allies - one which we absolutely need to win.

In the case of Islam I believe it goes beyond political correctness. There seems to be an element of fear about criticizing Islam. This has been evidenced a lot in northern Europe. A chief justice in England suggested allowing Muslims there to institute Sharia Law. One lawmaker [H of Rep] in this country has indicated the same. Don't remember his name.

So am I. But I can chew gum and walk at the same time. I can also pray and raise question about our political correctness/cowardice, though not at the same time, unless I am praying for my country!

Yeah, I can walk and chew bubble gum, blow bubbles and still try to get all of the facts before I try to see what's going on. First, there were three
gun-men, then there was one. Then he was dead. Now he is alive. Now they are getting to the other shooters. But , whoops, there weren't any, now there are, or were there?
How about this?
Pray for the families that are involved about this, and giving it a few days to see what really happened?
If you are really so concerned about what happened, why not contribute like others have to the families afflicted?
Or do you just want to verbally joust?

Indeed we must pray for the wounded and the mourning in this incident. But we too must search for answers so we won't have to pray for more wounded and grieving in future incidents.

More "Gun Control" fodder for Congress--------but-------take away every gun from every person---including police and military and even from criminals-----and we'd revert to shootin' each other with bow & arrows-----take those away and we'd stab each other with knives----take those away and we'd pick up the nearest rock . . . and then our fists will be the only WMD---and congress will want to take those away, too
