Union University, Jackson, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Baptist Convention. At the time I graduated (1961) it had about 400 students. Today, more than 3,000.

I got my start by attending a baptist kindergarten for two years.

I went to public school through 5th grade and to a private Christian school for 7th grade.

Then my run of baptist education hit full stride:

I attended Baptist schools through high school. This was followed by education at a baptist college. After college I taught in three different baptist schools. Then I went to a baptist seminary.

I am fully immersed in baptist education...and I am a very well-rounded person!

I attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary for a while (at extension centers, not the main campus). I finished my seminary at a couple of other Baptist seminaries.

My education

High School - Faith Baptist Schools of Canoga Park, CA - Class of 1987

College - Trinity Baptist College, Jacksonville, FL - B.A. - Class of 1992

Seminary - Central Baptist Theological Seminary - Plymouth, MN - M.A - Class of 2008, MDiv in progress (Class of 2010)

Just sent off my application to SBTS in Louisville for possible PhD work beginning in Fall 2010.

I attended a small baptist school supported in part by 4 or 5 Baptist churces (used their facilities for elementary classes) from 2nd grade through 7th (7th was at the high school which was its own campus property). It closed due to overexpansion, neighborhood demographics changing, poor money management, etc so then I switched from 8th through H.S. graduation to our bitter rival :), another baptist school that had K-12 in one big campus that was next door to the 1 Baptist church that founded it and it was named after.

I think my graduating school there stayed open for about 5 years after I graduated. By then, so many people had moved out of the neighborhoods and to nearby counties fleeing the inner city, that it couldn't keep enough students to stay open.

Memphis - Frayser Baptist School 2nd - 7th
Memphis - Skyview Academy 8th - Graduation.

BTW, went to public institution....Memphis State University for college, Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting and M.I.S. double major. (MIS is Management Information Systems...software development and such..I'm a programmer :)

Graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic College (now University). While it was started by FBC West Palm Beach under the leadership of Dr. Jess Moody, I don't think it was ever supported directly by CP dollars or an association of churches.

Graduated from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 2006. Definitely an SBC school, but not now or ever supported by CP funds.

Looking and praying to attend Union University for a D.Min in Expository Preaching.
