Do you think that these shows are honest or
    propaganda? "Walking with Dino", "Raising
    a Mammoth", "Walking with Cavemen"

    Propaganda?

You seem to think that real scientists are considering "creationism" or that their are genuine "creationist" articles in scientific journals.

Both of these thoughts are wrong.

Your opinion of what constitutes a scientific
    journal is bias.

That also goes for your opinion of what is a
"real" scientist. Real scientists are not just
the ones that study evolution and only went to
    secular colleges.

Actually, I don't believe most college students
are smart. They just need college to
help fill in the gaps the post-modern high schools
    fail to fill.

Uh-huh. A scientific journal is a peer-reviewed journal that is examined for accuracy, if that's bias, then go ahead and stick that label on me.

Uh-huh. Okay, my opinion of what a real scientist is would include, but is not limited to, an education at an "accredited" university. Also, the scientist has to get a degree in what they are studying, it doesn't need to be evolution.

Sounds like you're prejudiced against education. I never argued that all students were smart, most students can afford an education. If you think your highschool did a good job educating you, that's great. Keep in mind though that there is a whole world of knowledge to learn once you step into college.

Educating yourself isn't a bad thing, you know.

I never said I didn't attend college. Your
bias rest in what you believe (or have been told)
constitutes a peer group of scientists.

By accredited, I assume you mean government
    controlled.

Now isn't that an assumption. I made a remark about Highschool, I didn't make any remark about whether or not you went to college. I could see how you would get confused though. All I was trying to say was that there is a difference between a Highschool education and a College education.

But since you brought it up, did you go to college?

What, you don't know what accredited means??

    Yes, I attended college.

Bob Jones University is a wonderful school and
yet isn't accedited (to my knowledge). They don't want the government telling them what to teach and how to teach.

Uh-huh, I'm sure that's the reason they aren't accredited. If you are okay with the teaching of racist attitudes, that's on you.

According to this site Bob Jones University was started as a "whites only" college. In fact, I found this rather interesting:

Evolution is grounded in racism. Bob Jones
    University doesn't promote mix-marriages. I
find nothing wrong with that. Christians are
not to marry the un-saved. Besides, you go to school to learn---not to find a spouse

    Evolutionists infuse evolution throughout the
various departments of the institutions they
    get a foothold in.

First of all, as a graduate of Bob Jones University, I don’t appreciate the good name of my school dragged through the mud.

Second, BJU is hardly the only school in the country that started as “whites only.” So, if you are going to hold that against them, you’ll have to hold it against most other schools as well.

Third, if you’ve been paying attention at all, you should know that BJU has dropped their ban on interracial dating.

Fourth, I can guarantee you that the racial harmony on the campus of Bob Jones is vastly better than any secular school you can name. There are no racial conflicts and no racial prejudice.

Fifth, BJU has never applied for accreditation out of principle. Nevertheless, many grad schools, med schools, and law schools will accept BJU graduates because of the reputation that BJU has for academic excellence. I certainly didn’t have any problem getting into graduate school in Mathematics.

Now, what does any of this have to do with creation/evolution?

    Back to topic....

Major Propaganda! …and quite a lucrative commercial adventure for the Discovery Channel.

There is only a limited amount of data regarding the lifestyles of the Neanderthals. Every little tidbit of information that has been collected and expanded into a full-blown animated feature that by its very format strongly suggests it is ‘known truth’ (don’t you believe it). The animation is conjecture stretched just to the breaking point. Most of the things we know about the Neanderthal are based upon single site discoveries and are mere speculation about unique artifacts.

They wanted some cousins of mine to portray Neanderthals, but even without makeup, we looked too primitive for the part...

Are you going to invoke Godwin's law on us?

Nice dodge, it's not that sort of mixed marriage, unless of course you think only white people can be saved. Do you?

What are you talking about? That makes no sense.

I suppose better "late" then never, right?

Okay, I'll call your bluff. Prove it. Let's see some statistics.

Nothing much, the conversation got side tracked.

I don't think speculative, science-based television programs are necessarily propaganda. They're not intended to be presentations of research results from hard science, they're science entertainment! Who would watch a show that was just scrolling pages of tables of figures and bibliographic references and electronmicrographs.

The programs produced by the Discovery Channel and the BBC are often careful to interview real scientists on camera regarding the reasons for any speculation. Often these are presented as interstitials or special "Making of..." episodes.

So, do they have any real proof that our early
ancestors were really hairy, or are they just
basing their bias on my brother-in-law.

And AGAIN, I find NOTHING wrong with people
who feel that different races should not
inter-marry. GOD evolved the races and it isn't
for us to insist we inter-marry and fight HIS
    will.

I have friends who married a different race and
in ALMOST every case there were MAJOR issues.
With all but two couples, the reason for marriage
stemmed from fornication resulting in a
pragnancy. In each of those cases, the reason
for dating another race was to make make a
    statement.

Dating for making statements and sex outside of
marriage is sinful. Again, it really isn't
the job of our government to make accreditation
of colleges hinge on what the government wishes
to promote. Not in a FREE society in any case.

Not, I'm guessing, that you would accept.

You do realize there is no biological difference between races, right? Race is a societal construct, it's not a real construct.

What about discrimination? The above makes it seem as though you think that there are legitimate reasons for discrimination, you can't really think that's true, can you?
