Divorce and its relationship to Godly living!

I know the Bible teaches that adultery is the only reason for divorce, but I've often wondered why the subject of abuse wasn't addressed in the Bible. How does a woman who is in an abusive marriage get away from it Biblically? Is she forbidden to leave her husband?

bmerr here. She is not forbidden to leave her abusive husband. In fact, I'd recommend it. I can't say she'd be eligible to remarry though, unless it turned out that the man had been unfaithful, which would not be suprising, in most cases of abuse.
