I watched, with my wife, as I was just cleaning my shotgun at the time, and really wasn't interested, but that chubby little girl sure can whine, can't she ? It seems country music was pretty good to them, as attested to by their ability to take three years off. Why does she keep insulting the people who let her live the high life ?

When will she just let it go ? And 60 minuites slurping up to them, well, let's consider the source.

BTW, Rhonda Vincent, now there's a real woman. More talent in her little finger than the entire trio of Dixie Chicks. But you'll probably never know that, on account of that Rhonda plays real music. And she never tells her fans how to vote.

Whining aint gonna get her back into the good graces of country music fans. She has a right to speak and folks have a right to not buy her music. Maybe she should take her music to MTV and Air America.

    Amen, brother. [IMG]

I've already pre-ordered Rhonda's forthcoming album, "All American Bluegrass Girl" from Amazon.com.

Rhonda Vincent is awesome. I first saw her on the bluegrass awards show a few years ago.

Natalie has the pipes, I used to love to hear her sing. If they could just get her to shut up between songs they would still be selling albums. I did not throw mine out (I only have the 1st one), but I admit I have not listened to it in years now.

It is really kind of sad, I liked their music but now when I listen to it I can't get past the politics. I wish I could separate the two.

I just wish well-known musicians and all of Hollywood would stick to doing what they're being paid to do; entertain us. I also wish they would realize that they don't speak for America when it comes to politics or religion.

Natalie's interview revealed two things to me.

    1. She still hasn't learned that people are interested in her musical talent, not her political opinion.

    2. She doesn't interview like she's too bright in the first place.

#1 is the likely result of #2.

BTW, how many greedy, evil, price gouging oil executives are rich enough to take three years off ?

Dittos, BC and Rev M. I was a big Chicks fan until Natalie piped up. I wouldn't have had a big problem with it if she had mouthed off over here but doing so before a foreign audience was just too much. There are a few liberals even in country music, including one of my favorites, Emmylou Harris, and Jimmy Buffett, another favorite, has given campaign benefit concerts for Jimmy Carter, Mondale, and Clinton, but I'll continue to buy both his and Emmylou's records. I didn't burn my Dixie Chicks CD's, so that my refusing to listen to them is a continual constant choice, as is my refusal to buy any more of their albums.

The Dixie Chicks are a perfect example of why capitalism works. They knew they wouldn't make it on their musical talent, so they went for image. They performed other people's songs, for the most part, and used studio musicians on the records. I suppose I should give their banjo player a little credit, it's a very hard instrument to learn. But the other two don't impress me at all. Pretty much a female, countrified, N-Sync. However, I rejoice in their success. I'm happy they got jobs that give you three years off, with royalties. I just wish ole' Natalie wasn't so bitter.

Considering some of the nonsense on this thread, it doesn't seem that Natalie is the only bitter one! Talented young ladies who took off time to have a family with an opinion...heck that's got the making of country song right there!

Whatever. People have families all the time with less fuss. That fact (although I think they were more concerned with the battle they were having with their record label than raising kids) does not mean I should laud them for taking off some years to do it.

If all some girl band, who seemingly cannot find a fit business manager, has to do is whine about the President, torment another country music singer in the press, and have some kids - then I want her life.

LOL Im perfectly happy not getting what they have 'got'. Talk about continuing to stir the pot! I guess they have a small fan base out there that just buys music because they run their mouths. How *can* they sing with those cowgirl boots in their mouths?

Some people just dont know when to quit I guess.

I heard them sing on a sound track of some movie the other night (probably made for TV) - don't remember which movie, but their singing was real pretty. I think I'll buy their new - do people still say 'album'? - CD.

Anybody else watch the country music awards last night? Reba said something along the lines of, "If the Dixie Chicks can sing with their foot in their mouth I aught to be able to host this show." It was really funny.

I have several of their CD's but have given them no attention since they put music and politics together. They had a great thing going and have awesome harmony.....some of them (Natalie) just needs to grow up! :D
