Do Both Calvinists/Arminians affirmed the Substitionary Death of Christ?

I do not know of any educated Calvinistic thinking folks who do not look at the propitiation work (blood sacrifice) of Christ as complete for all humankind. The Scriptures are clear that Christ paid in full for all the sins, of all humankind, who have, are and will ever be conceived.

However, I don't know any "camp" that does put some limit on atonement (reconciliation) as applied to only believers.

Outside the typical educated Calvinistic thinking, the blood is also a matter of question.

There are more than a few who actually state that Christ's blood is only applicable to those who believe, and that if a person "dies in their sins" they are lost. That their sins are what condemns them to the lake of fire.

That sort of thinking has very little alignment with the truth of Scriptures.

But the Scriptures are clear about the propitiation work of the cross - it is complete and the penalty for sin(s) are paid in full. Christ has no need to die again.

Because of that, the Scriptures proclaim with certain clarity - ALL are urged to be reconciled to God.

The fact that few are reconciled to God is because they are His sheep.

 

Atoning Sacrifice at the cross. once for all, unlimited in scope, covers all sins for all mankind in all of time.

Day of Atonement - Lev 16 describes that "Atoning Sacrifice" in vs 15 with the "Sin offering" that was slain.

But God's Atonement doctrine as defined in scripture ALSO includes the High Priestly work of Lev 16:15-32 - the High Priestly work of Christ started in Heb 8:1-5 at His ascension into heaven where He took His seat as both High Priest and as King.

According to Heb 9 that work is individual and specific as even Heb 10 points out - we individually draw near to Him and receive the benefits of His once-for-all sin offering. Some choose to do that - some reject it.
