I have never met a Calvinist who does. In fact, all the Calvinists I know are deeply commited to the glory of God. Why would you even suggest that Calvinists worship John Calvin?

If you really think that I fell bad for you, for it means that you think men such a Spurgeon, Edwards, Carey, Fuller, and Bunyan were all idolators.

==That is a silly, and offensive, question. Do you worship John Wesley? How about Jacob Arminius?

If you wish to have a discussion about Calvinism please bring facts, question, and issues to the table.

While opposed to Calvinism, this is going too far.

Michael , isn't it possible to be a Calvinist without ever reading anything of Calvin's works ?... The answer is YES ! The Bible works nicely , it is more than sufficient .

I think this thread is way out of line and should not be on this Baptist Board. It suggest homosexuality with vulgar pictures and serves no purpose whatsoever.

This person is a troll. He has been refuted and now it is time to ignore him. He is like the Phelps clan at the SBC convention or at a military funeral. The only reason they show up there is to inflame hatred and get publicity. Take it away from him. The only response this person will recieve from me in the future unless there is sincere repentance is in the form of the report post icon at the top right hand corner of his post.

please, some of you calvinistic brethern are getting to upset.
I got a good laugh at the Calvin cologne pic. It was funny. It was a spoof on John Calvin not Jesus.

Maybe if you guys didn't get so upset this dude would have to stop pushing your buttons?

Admit it the cologne thing was a hoot! I know Joseph Bot. laughed but he will never admit it.

If you can't laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at?

BTW I'm not anti-calvin just don't think calvinism is some perfect system of theology.

I did laugh at the cologne thing but I think that dude should be banned from the board if he keeps this stuff up.
Oh, and ever since he posted the first one I keep getting "gay" based adds from google at the bottom of the pages.

Notice he never answered where he got the quote if not word for word from the gay site.

I can respect Bro. Bob and all the others who use scripture to show why they believe "calvinism" is wrong, but I have no respect for those who can't use scripture and resort to childish and very un-Christ like methods. I must say, I'm thankful he is not on my side.

    Shannon,

Believe it or not, I really don't think posting vulgar slander about a dead brother in Christ is funny. I did not laugh. I am through here, and I strongly encourage those with Christian decency to likewise abandon this thread.

    Enough!

I have not have the time or the Internet to post any replies. But, I could not let this one go. I have been reading and following the BB discussions and some have been good--no mean-spirited stuff, etc. However, this current thread is ridiculous!

It is obvious MichaelGene52 is in no way, shape, or form interested in anything approaching a serious discussion.

Unfortunately, MichaelGene52 does not realize that BOTH Arminians and Calvinist are Christians--and that is coming from me, a very, very 5-point Calvinist. His attitude exemplifies what I have come to greatly dislike among both my reformed brothers and my non-reformed brothers--an attitude of non-intellectual engagement.

Some seek to paint disparaging pictures of the other side, exemplified by calvinists smearing arminians and vice-versa.

It would be MUCH better to engage in the issues relating to the doctrines of grace and the doctrines of those who oppose them. It is unbecoming of any Christian to sling mud at other Christians. To do so is, I would say, proof by the fruit of your own actions that you are not a Christian.

So, be careful how you post, brothers and sisters, and be careful what you post, you represent Someone FAR more important than your self.

    Blessings,

    The Archangel
