Here in Syracuse NY, an 11 month baby was shot and killed. Her 2 sisters were also in the vehicle -they were hit, but just minor injuries. They have arrested an individual. LEO are not sure if he was the shooter - but was in the vehicle. ---- On TV news they interviewed a minister - but was listed as a "Community leader". This minister said the community needs to work together to stop these things. He also stated that the home needs to be the base. Not Once -at least on air- did he say it was a sin problem.
FWIW - the victims and alleged shooter are all blacks. This happen just blocks from where President Biden used to live when he was attending Syr U.

'community problem, sounds like he is an advocate for 'social justice', however that fits into their 'white supremacy', racial disparity arguments evangelized by them, must be a satanic plot...it is certainly not the gospel.

Galatians 1
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

I may be off base here, but I can easily imagine that if a preacher did mention sin in this context, TV news might likely edit it out.

I was thinking that was a possibility - thus the phrase "on air"

On the other hand - Scott has a point about "social justice"

Yes, lots of unknowns. Some questions I would also have is whether he called himself a community leader and social justice advocate, or that was how the TV styled him.

They gave the name of his church - very quickly - so I am going to watch the late night news - if I can, I will try to go see him.

Finally found the name of the pastor and the name of the church!
In fact, I may have met him years ago, when I was selling air time on a radio station
I still do - on a part time basis.
Will try to see him on Wed - will be close to his church.
Will keep all posted.
